Welp, there goes any hope of it being good.pic related also received overwhelming praise from game journos. Let that sink in.

Another fallacy based on the meme that game journalists aren't over-hyped, glorified marketers.

Why are we fighting again?
Why doesn't /v/ just shit on Ubisoft and EA?
>>343993021
you are picking straws, TloU is popular cause "narrative shit" BotW so far is popular cause gameplay. you can improvise a fucking catapult
>>343993183
>TLOU is popular because narrative shit
Not true.

From the very first critic comment:
>SpazioGames
>A masterpiece, that breaks the self imposed barriers of gaming narrative and ensnares the player with intelligent gameplay and brilliant A.I. Anyone wanting to tackle the same themes will have to be compared to Naughty Dog's work in the future, and it won't be pretty.
Despite the gameplay being casualized, linear, and in the case of online, held back by massive paywalls, they still praise the gameplay as if it's an inspiring breakthrough in technology. It reinforces my point that game journos have very little knowledge of what makes a game good. And you gotta admire that user score too, incase you thought fanboys could be trusted. They love the gameplay and consider it to be "the best thing ever and evurrr".
But I'm getting off track. The point is that a game is instantly trash if it's popular in this industry where most developers want to put in a "skip gameplay" button. And this sadly applies for Zelda as well, until I can personally verify whether it's good or not. And so far, I haven't.
>>343993489
>with intelligent gameplay and brilliant A.I.
here you know he is lying tho
Nintendo games have such low standards it's embarrassing. It's like praising the retarded kid because he put on a matching pair of socks.
>>343993703
He's not lying, so much as being guilty of having extremely low standards. It's why features like pay2play online and sub-30 FPS are normal in most (primarily console) games. Even Zelda BOTW runs below 30 FPS. And for a landmark Nintendo title running on brand new next gen hardware, that's pretty bad.
>>343993971
>Even Zelda BOTW runs below 30 FPS
it runs at 30 only dips are during explosions.
also given scope of the world and hardware that was expected. same as NX likely being 60 FPS
>>343994221
>it runs at 30 only dips are during explosions.
So basically it's 10 years behind every optimized PC game that runs 60 FPS standard? And I'm supposed to believe that the NX will somehow be stronger?
Certainly you can understand if I'm skeptical of Nintendo's little claims. Especially after their treatment with Paper Mario and Metroid.
>>343994450
literally every 3D zelda runs at 30 fps or lower.
>>343994857
And this is something that needs to be fixed. A "next gen best game of all time universe destroying innovative masterpiece" as you claim should be able of running 60 FPS minimum.
>>343995183
None of what you said has anything to do with the FPS the game runs at, that's just your little pet peeve.
>>343995338
It's a pet peeve to have basic standards?
>>343994450
>comparing a console to a PC
you stupid, son?
I've played every zelda game other than 2DS and 3DS games
have I missed anything at all worthwhile?
>>343996710
When you tell me to get excited for a game because it'll be "the most revolutionary thing since the sliced bread", then I'm going to compare it to all previous games, even on PC. After all, I thought Nintendo was a good compliment to the computing platform, no? So why can't Ninty reach the basic standards of a PC user?
You're asking me to shell out several hundred dollars for the NX which will HOPEFULLY run at 60 FPS, which isn't even confirmed since all the footage we saw was sub-30 FPS, and I'm supposed to believe that, within the course of a single year, Nintendo can rehaul an entire game engine and optimize it enough to remove every single issue I saw with the demo.
>FPS autists trying to justify their PC purchases
steady frame rate >>> high frame rate > low framer rate
>they can't even achieve steady 30 fps with this
Can't say I disagree, pretty shit E3
>giving awards to things that haven't released
These mean nothing
>>343999918
Fuck man, the main thing I like about Nintendo games is they have really solid engines, but the pop-in on this is a bit disappointing.
>>343995443
If you have fps-standards you have no need to bother with console games.
>>344000254
>>343999918
The WiiU is weak, cant really expect much else.
>>344000254
assuming that the ninty tradition of polishing the shit out of games still exists, I'm willing to bet both performance and pop-in will be fixed at least a little more at release.
Then there's also the NX version which will hopefully have hugely increased visuals.
God I hope the NX is at-least on-par with PS4.
