show me them underrated gems
>>343981835
Haven't played this since I was a kid but I remember really enjoying it
PS2 was a goldmine for just taking something random off a shelf at Gamestop and ending up with something decent
The Maximo games were god-tier
Too bad Capcom have gone to shit and will never make another, or an HD collection
>>343981835
holy fuck this game was hard
Orks and elves.
This was me and my brothers' replacement for Melee after it got old
This game was fucking great
Over a decade later I'll still bust it out if a friend who's never played it comes over
>>343981835
Better than Mighty no. 9
>>343984605
I also want to continue with this and say you could play as this fucking guy and Palpatine people with your special move
>>343984605
>>343984810
There was also this guy, whose stage was an island city in Japan with a flying saucer flying in the corner of the stage
And if you hit it, a giant-ass tsunami would happen and do a shitload of damage to everyone not on top of a skyscraper
>>343985090
>>343984605
>>343984810
I fucking loved this game so much. Me and my friend would play it for hours, until one day he tried jerking me off. Never saw him again.
The weirdest fucking multiplayer game I've ever played
Still waiting for someone other than me to remember this game and make an "Iggy's Kekkin' Balls" edit
>>343982534
The Saturn was a god-tier system for 2D games.
>>343981835
I'm surprised and actually a little glad this game wasn't dubbed. Wasn't the anime already out in America, though? I thought that Capcom would just get those guys to voice it.
>>343981835
>underrated
game is fucking trash actually
>>343982534
It's really not underrated though
I still get chills whenever I think about it.
>>343984964
The flying stage in this game was the shit!
>>343985453
I've always wanted to play the Saturn version of Symphony of the Night but apparently the extra areas were made by a B-team that were rushed to hell and don't really fit with the rest of the game. The new Richter sprite looked like ass too.
>>343981835
Took me way too long to realize this game was basically a classic MM, right down to the jump animation, with BN embellishments. Also has 2 of my favorite songs in the series.

Maybe not the Saturn version but X4 is quite beloved on /v/.
>>343984964
Rocket 2 never. ;_;
>>343985442
/v/ is too harsh on DaS2.
>>343985453
Can't claim to champion this one myself but I do like it a hair more than MM7 at least, and MM7 isn't bad.
>>343985873
Speaking of amazing Dragon Quest spin-offs!

I remember this game from the early days of the Wii when everyone was still trying to reassure themselves that the Wii had good third party games
>>343987214
It did. It just didn't have many.
it was actuallygood
>>343987186
I wonder why the Wii U version was so butchered. The Wii version was fantastic.
>>343987336
Yeah pretty much
>>343981835
>>343987336
This, and the ones it did have people didn't play. Really, you could post a number of Wii games in this thread.
>Tatsunoko vs. Capcom
>No More Heroes 1 & 2
>Fragile Dreams
>Red Steel 2
>The Trauma Center games
>Elebits
>Pandora's Tower
>The Last Story
>MadWorld
Just off the top of my head.
>>343986034
It wasn't well optimized either so there are a lot more framerate issues than just the boss kill screen
The main mechanic of this game was you could scan different animals to transform into them and gain their powers
I specifically remember a fish, a gorilla, and a pterodactyl I think
It was rad
>>343987673
That game was ass. It was hella boring and none of it made any goddamn sense
>>343987716
If I remember right the first No More Heroes got a PS3 port. That everyone proceeded to also not play.
But fuck me I would kill a man for a Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom 2. It was the first fighter I ever really got into and tried online play with, unfortunately it was right as the scene was starting to die off.
>>343986034
really digging the new tracks they did for it

If it weren't for the fucked up physics.
Not saying they needed to replicate Sonic physics, but Shadow moved way too fast and felt slippery.
Apparently the creator wanted to make an HD collection, but an online petition only got ten thousand votes
>ywn see that sweet KOSMOS ass in full HD without some glitchy emulation
>>343987450
Eh, it had good intentions and I liked it when I was 14 but it's pretty fundamentally flawed. The idea of blending typical action adventure design and Sonic speed just doesn't work, the morality system was conceptually intriguing given the main character but it devolved into branching mission objectives which loops back into the previous point, and the less said about the absolute schlock that is the game's story and dialogue the better. I still have my copy, I booted it up for a run on its 10th anniversary because why not, and it's no gem but it's not quite the train wreck it's made out to be either so I guess in that sense it's a bit underrated.
This shit was Ninja Gaiden Black two years before the Ninja Gaiden reboot even came out
>>343987450
Not really. Shadow feels wrong to control, replaying level 1 10 times or whatever gets old, and the kill all enemy objectives suck.
That being said the game is a wonderfully campy edge.
God tier music

Well, by Suda standards people did play the Wii version of 1. If I recall correctly it did about 100k which was enough for a sequel. I wonder if he still has any plans to do NMH3; he said Travis' story was done but he was up for a third game when Nintendo released new hardware for it. I don't think he predicted the WiiU would be what it was, though.
Look at that fucking helmet and tell me this game wasn't cool

I forgot that I bought this on Wii.
...by the way, this got ported to the Wii Shop Channel.

Samurai Resident Evil
Real spooky
>>343988593
I tried to like it for kaneko but I couldn't do it
>>343987673
Another Gundam game, but I like the weight of the combat in this one.
Loved this as a kid
>>343988862
this was on super nintendo right?
>>343988945
I had the sega version but yes it was on the SNES
>>343988671

At this point I'm just nostalgie tripping through stacks and stacks of old games I played as a kid
>>343989076
I would join in but all I had were sports games
>>343986613
Worse than FF5, not a very good game overall
This fucking game bro.
Bro.
This game.
You never played this game. Fucking giant robots and shit with the WEIRDEST controls.
You don't know bro.
>>343990091
how do they justify anime children piloting mechs this time?
>>343988825
Heh, just bought the first and second games to complete my trilogy. Played the first one a fuckton as a kid at my friends house, bought the third one years later to find that it also kicked ass. Here's hoping the second game isn't trash
>>343990541Pokemon voices
Pokemon voices everywhere
>>343990323
You had a remote control to pilot it and had to reposition yourself a lot. I honestly forget how you got it.
I think I'm one of the few people that played the original ZoE before it got big as a throwback underappreciated game
ZoE2 I remember playing the multiplayer for and thinking it was fucking amazing
Really makes me hope Kojima doesn't go full artsy bullshit for Death Stranding, because when he cuts loose and just makes a fun action game it's pretty awesome
>>343988593
Haven't heard of this one, looks pretty neat though.
>>343990931
It's a bit dated and not amazing by any means, but for a first person hack and slash on the Dreamcast of all things, it was pretty ambitious.
Still fun though, and it's got some neat mechanics. It's sad the re-release was crappy, I'd love a remake with a better control scheme that wasn't built around the Dreamcast's bizarre one-analogue controller.
>>343988593
If you can't get into that you could always try the psuedo-remake on PS2 (Maken Shao). They changed alot around so it feels like a different game in parts.
Europe onry though.

>>343987450
This game's saving grace was that the nonsensical mission branches meant you could just skip your way around some of the shittier levels if you wanted.
You wouldn't get the final ending but you could squeeze some fair mileage out of the game that way.
>>343990541it is

someone call the anime center RIGHT NOW
>>343983705
