Use crush damage on wings and legs to break them. Use pierce and slash damage on head to break it. After that just hit it until it dies. Breaking the legs allow you to deal more damage with slash damage (to the legs).

What weapons are cool?
I love hammers and spears, spears especially, but I'm worried pierce damage will get fucked later on. Same with the 100% blunt of the hammer.
I switched to LS for the time being but it isn't as fun.
