how do you live with yourself?

So you're saying a 6 year old mid range GPU can't run modern games at 2160x1200@90fps?

Fucking weird man.

Good on you OP. Now go get a 980 or something.

Is the CPU weak or is the RX 480 actually legit?

here's my 980 for comparison

Why do you all want to play mediocre boring VR "experiences" so badly. Its going to be another 4-5 years until decent VR exclusive games even start coming out.

>get someone's old 570 for free
>some new, poorly coded games need to run on low
>still look great
dont think id even want a new card even if it was free until this baby literally can't run new games anymore

fuck turning my room into a hotbox anymore for a couple extra sparkles effects

Dark Souls 3 literally won't run on a GTX 570
>>

That CPU is fantastic. The RX 480 is legit... as long as you have a motherboard that can deal with the current overdraw. It'll be AMD's most solid card in a long time when that kink gets worked out.

you do know newer cards run cooler because they won't be as taxed and draw less power, right?
>>
>>343905561
Not always. This gen does seem pretty good in efficiency though.

I really though my CPU would be bottlenecking this, I was wrong.

So why is everyone acting like VR is this crazy new special technology field or something, "is it VR ready" it's just rendering the same thing it always did, but twice, if an older game got VR support you could play it on anything, if Crysis 3 got VR support it wouldn't play on anything regardless how "VR-ready" it is.
>>
>>343906281

"VR ready" is a thing right now because for this generation of VR every single dev has targeted the 970 as the baseline. So if you have a 970 or better you are guaranteed to be able to run everything on Oculus Home or on Steam.
