Movement in 3 is crap. Target locking is super finnicky and it's impossible run out of combat whenever you want cause you get leashed back in to it. Animation priority for turning around also did not exist in 2 and made it that much smoother for it. It's just a fucking bore

In my opinion, Witcher 2 had the least memorable soundtracks, worst locations (mostly just army camps, 2 grey cities and linear rocky forest areas), overuse of bloom and sharpening, not many memorable quests or characters and overall I heavily disliked the heavy focus on politics and war, to my mind witcher has never been about that. I understand why some people like it but it just wasn't my jam.

No, fucking huge maps ruin the ability to survey your surroundings and plan your attacks as well create bullshit deaths because you didn't see that russian shoot you a mile away or dogs coming at you at the speed of sound.
It also changed from psychedelic arthouse with a moral that was one giant middle finger to plot in video-games (which considering the industries new focus on story and cinematic gamplay is fairly refreshing whether or not you even agree with it) and became Pulp Fiction: The Game.
I still enjoy it a lot but it has many flaws.

What makes you like soulstorm over dark crusade? Do you just like the Sisters or dark eldar? Because soulstorm is widely regarded as the worst of the DoW 1 expansions. IMO the campaign incredibly is worse, the balancing is worse, and the new races have lesser quality animations and models compared to previous.

The campaign mechanics are imo better than DC and SS has more races, so the skirmish is more varied whenplaying against medium AI because I'm a faggot like that. Both vanilla 1 and 2 have the best campaigns, but I think SS is the best just because I can fuck around with skirmish much more.

I kinda understand why Witcher fans would dislike 2 but regarding the story itself, the general pacing and the narrative choice it gives it's a pretty amazing game. It also looks absolutely fantastic and the gameplay really isn't worse than the other games when they all have pretty flawed gameplay to begin with. Personally I think Flotsam is fucking fantastic from a setting, quest and area boss standpoint.

Had VLR in my 3x3 before, but I thought ZTD was slightly better. Didn't answer some questions from the VLR epilogue, which sucks, but seeing Junpei, Akane, Sigma, and Phi come together for a final adventure was too good, and some of the new characters (Carlos, Diana) were awesome too.

Gotta be honest I think the story is really good. Well, the story itself is simple but the characters are surprisingly well rounded and there's some pretty good dialogue especially from Hugo.
