SamSho was always a relatively slow, methodical fighting game that had more emphasis on fundamentals & reads than the long combos most modern games have, but then again SSTenka is probably the best SamShow outside of SS2 for competitive play and that feels relatively "Modern" in what you can do and how you can move around... I'dunno, I'm tired and need sleep.
As for characters, as long as they don't half-ass it like they did with Sen and go for a slightly more fantastical vibe than "Generic Blonde Samurai", "Generic Viking Dude" & "Generic Loli wielding sword bigger than her" I'm cool with it. Again, too tired to really think up an honest reply.
