Battlefront 2 had a bunch of really half-baked ideas and gamemodes, but most of all people are still mad that they took a huge steaming shit on the PC community and the modding scene in particular.
They flat-out refused to patch the game for MONTHS after release, despite game-breaking bugs and significant obstructions for modders that they agreed to remove post-launch. It got to the point where some of the biggest Battlefront communities on PC shut down their gameservers and dropped the gamebefore the first patch even went live.
If you played this on a console or picked it up late on PC, you probably never heard of that, but the PC community got royally ass-fucked.

Yeah, I think while ds3 was the actual better game overall, I didn't have nearly as much fun playing it as I did ds2. I think that's mostly because fashion souls was dogshit and the color palate of ds2 was so much more vibrant.
