Rise is literally 99% the same game as TR2013, gameplay wise. They took no risks and changed almost nothing whatsoever. So if you didn't like TR2013, you're not missing anything at all. One of the laziest, most copypasta sequels I've ever played.

Whatever you think about the new games, they're atleast undeniably better than Chronicles (rushed cash-in), Angel of Darkness (more like Industrial Raider, also buggy mess) and Legend (corridor levels, atmosphere-killing radio team).
How is Rise of the Tomb Raider? I really liked the reboot.

It's similar in terms of controls but a little more open and overall more enjoyable. The intro is decieving because it's a lot of cinematic uncharted shit but then it opens up more a bit later. Also the bow is so overpowered by midgame that you never need to use any other weapons except maybe the shotgun.

From puzzle platformer to yet another cinematic shooter.
It had some strong elements at the beginning with its focus on survival, but it all went to hell later. Everything it sought out to do, The Last of Us ended up doing better.
Of course that doesn't say much considering TLOU also suffered from intrusive cinematics, but my point is that TReboot was extremely forgettable

If it's anything like TR 2013 it has like 4 """"puzzles"""" that lara tells you how to solve if you take longer than 4 minutes, and you can't fail them.
I really liked the 2013 one, I expected to hate it but was pretty fun. I was never big on the originals though, despite it being the first game I ever played on PS1, I didn't like it.

TR1 came out and it was cool.
Then they just kinda kept making the same game over and over again, each time trading the lonely exploration for more action despite the control scheme being barely suited for it.
Then Angel of Darkness happened and the series was handed to another developer to try and wash off the stink.
Then Underworld came out and sold and rated like shit compared to Uncharted. They somehow completely fucked the controls in Underworld despite them being fine in the previous two games.
Then they rebooted it again and threw in elements from Uncharted, Hunger Games, and every AAA game in the past few years hoping someone would like it.
I think that's what happened.
Nothing. Both games are great, but it'll get more recognition when it comes out on the Quad. Xbone is dead and PC mustards only play minesweeper in hd.
