Had it on my HD too for the longest time when it was promoted to be "free" if you downloaded the very first build

Now it's a regular F2P game, but it's fantastic after the latest patch.

Intense battles and lots of power struggling, grind has been reduced.

One can only wish. I hate how all the current space sims are. X Rebirth has gotten the traveling down decently and the atmosphere down, but the flying is rather shit and on foot movement is weird.

ED has got flying down but the game is empty, there is nothing to do and all major features are Soonâ„¢ plus behind season pass expansion paywalls. SC is still in development and probably won't be out for another few years and No Man's Sky looks to be the same shit as ED content wise. Then there is Dual Universe that just got announced but we know next to nothing about the game other than an alpha in game trailer showing off two planets and a whole lot of shadow pop in.

Normies haven't liked Halo since 2007 before CoD got big. The series is actually somewhat niche now. Also, Halo lore of all things certainly isn't, even if the games are.

You can give Rebel Galaxy a shot, it's a small spiritual clone of Freelancer with a Firefly/Bebop paint over it. The difference is that you play only as Capital Ships while Freelancer you play only as fighters though both games have mods that lets you play as each other.

The biggest ships you can get are about 1/20th the size or so. However they function like slower turning fighters so the only difference between the largest ships that players can fly and the smallest is the size (which affects cargo capacity) and sometimes number of weapons, but even those are just one or two more hardpoints for weapons.

Wormholes/gates are cool as fug, but i also like the idea of FTL drive jumping like in BSG or whatever. There's also instantaneous travel vs. actually travelling through hyperspace/subsapce like in star wars, while instant travel is probably a bit more realistic and practical, traveling through "hyperspace" for hours or even weeks is a pretty cool concept.

I like how Stellaris features multiple FTL methods for different races even if it was annoying as fuck trying to defend systems lategame as a hyperspace method empire against a warpdrive empire.

Freespace kind of combines the two. Subspace jumps within the same system are nearly instantaneous, but jumps between systems require traveling through a subspace tunnel for a while.

No, there really is nothing like that. Fallout is sci-fi, but it's also post-apocalyptic and has that horrid 1950s retro-future aesthetic. If I had the skills, I'd make a total conversion for it that makes the aesthetic more like Mass Effect and takes place in a non-destroyed sci-fi world.

Every video they've shown off has been the same recycled garbage of landing on planet >shoot some animals or mine a rock >leave planet. The CEO absolutely refuses to clarify if things like multiplayer are actually in game (we know the only thing you'll see are planets that people named). And major gameplay features such as trading, alien interaction and even extensive space dog fighting have yet to be shown off properly, in fact we only got the first glimpse of the speech system about two months ago, and that's for a game that's been in development for how many years now?

This on top of the fact that so far all the planets they've shown off through screenshots and videos have been too similar to me. Creatures shown off so far have been mostly boring shit we see on a daily basis in real life or are have lost their wow factor (generic dinosaurs). And everyone is parroting the game is "too fucking huge" PR speak. Clearly none of these people have played Elite Nothing to do Dangerous, I know I have.
