It's easy to write it off as just people being pissy about "muh gamergate" but I'm a firm believer that any good translation is a light localization, and part of that is that things have to be changed in the process. However, it has to be lightly changed. The intention, the context, the meaning, that's what needs to be preserved. Rewriting the dialogue entirely to the point where it's divorced from the original script is not only poor form but incredibly insulting to the viewer.

TPCi completely ruined the Pokemon anime. I mean, I will be fair and say it has gotten better with the XY/XYZ dub but still it fails compared to the 4kids dub. Serena and Bonnie's voices are really damn good but everybody else ranks from meh to god awful. Although, Ash's voice actress has improved, she will NEVER come close to Veronica Taylor's Ash.
