Can you even form proper sentences? What is the point of this thread? Or is "uhhh i just want to start a flamewar" too obvious?
>>
>>343802796

Obviously.

Shit wouldn't work in Bongland thanks to the fact that PC parts are pricehiked as fuck over there. But with exchange rates to USD, it could be done in clapistan.
>>
>>343802868
Every thread you make is full of memes starting from the OP you fucking retard. Kill yourself.

I remember trying to build a PC back in 2011. All the parts combined ended up coming out to more than a similar prebuild, with installed software. It also didn't help that I was trying to do that in summer rather than around Black Friday.

This

I'm looking at the Alienware Alpha R2 i5 model which has 8gbs of ram and runs on a desktop GTX 960 4gb DDR5 and it does use a desktop CPU. It's basically a desktop packed in a Alpha box. The new addition is that you can add a Graphics Amplifier which lets you add a more powerful GPU in place of your default one.

I have a similar build on pcpart picker. While its around $709 dollars to build. The alpha model I want is $799. Also my build is a tower in a $30 box.

Point being is prebuilts aren't much more expensive then building one. Don't feel ashamed or believe the memes about building building a PC. Just buy a prebuilt of the same build to as close or less price then building one.
>>
>>343802621

According to systemrequirementlab. My laptop can't run shit. But I can run just about everything on ultra even games I can't even get minimal. However I can't run DOOM on ultra which I found out recently.

I bought it new, cost me 1500, it's 16 months ol now and honestly I don't need an upgrade since there's very little I want to play or run.

Not really. I just spend too much time on /v/ and your style of posting is obnoxious enough for me to remember. Plus you have such a simple name and you don't change it. Kill yourself.
>>
>>343805501
Keep in mind that the GPU in the Alpha is soldered on, so while you might very well spend more building your own the end result would likely be able to be upgraded.

We'll see builds that can more easily compete against both consoles and prebuilt mini PCs next year when the socket AM4 Zen/Vega APUs are released, and in systems using those you'll be able to upgrade both the CPU and GPU simultaneously by replacing one chip.

>>
>>343805875
Why would you spend 1500 on a gaming laptop? You could've spent 1000 on an actual desktop PC that would be at least 50% stronger than your laptop guaranteed, then just spent 300 or so on a mid tier laptop to have on the side when you need portability or want to watch movies or play indieshit games on the side
>>
>>343806196
You can buy a graphics amplifier and put in a high end GPU if you want to upgrade.

My point is building a PC isn't as much cheaper as it used to be.
>>
I have an i3 4170 and a R9 380 4GB , i easily get 60 FPS on medium-high settings without AA and shadows on off/low in every game i play except GTA IV and Squad/ARMA 3 MP. I have spent maybe $200 on a 150 game steam/origin library that mostly includes multiplayer games or those protected by Denuvo , i torrent every singleplayer game out there because there is no point in giving $60 if you can get it for free. My PC cost the same as an XBone with 12 month XBL.

I do play at 1600x900 tho

Both kinds of threads are bad, PC or console who the fuck cares, just buy what you want.

Making dumb flamewar posts doesn't help anybody's side. Find the part where i said that its ok when PC is attacked but for consoles it isn't.

But their specs typically make it last longer and your access to games is generally at a reduced cost (discounts come to those systems more often and more quickly after release)

>>
>>343805501
Just use a site or store that builds computers, then you at least pick all the parts and are free to upgrade it later. Prebuilts always use cheap parts and make it hard to swap out parts later.
>>
>>343813194
$464

PC parts are ridiculously overpriced in englel though.
>>
>>343806854
They're already affordable for non poorfags. Shit, I consider them downright cheap compared to 4k or ultrawide monitors. But good luck taking advantage of a 1440p 144hz monitor with that designated shitting tier gpu
>>
>>343814694
I paid well under $300 early last year for everything, shitty display included, and I'm sure the video card is overkill for that CPU but it was like $65. GTA5 and DaS3 both run fine on medium/high settings, performance is still better than on consoles even with graphics on medium/high settings. My first build and I don't really know what I'm doing so no OC'ing for now.
>>
>>343813894
Also, how long will that mobo last? Will I need a new one if I upgrade to a half-decent CPU?
>>
PC being the rich men's choice is a worse meme.
Plebs aren't playing on consoles because it's cheaper, they're just afraid to build a PC.

You've earned this, faggot.
>>
Fine. I'll take the bait.

Whoever makes a sub-$500 (USD) rig is a fucking retard.

>muh savings
You're building a computer that will be doing EVERYTHING. Whether it be work, games, taxes, hobbies, research, schoolwork, etc, EVERYTHING. Combining all those requirements into one system will save money down the road by ignoring potential seperate costs (i.e. decent rig + decent laptop instead of bad rig + good laptop).

>muh need to feel superior to console babbies
Who fucking cares? I will never understand why people tie themselves down to shit console standards when the sky is the limit. Save up some money and drop $800 USD on a rig you wont need to upgrade for half a decade. There are people stilrocking gtx 480 tis and are still running very respectable benchmarks.

>cant afford it
Then wait and save up some money. You'll save $50 a year by not having to pay for the often-hacked PDN/XBL and their tied-down bullshit.

There is no reason to own a console in 2016. All the games that are worth playing are multi plat, and the previous generation games are emulator-friendly. I can understand getting massive sales or hand-me-downs but that's it.
>>
>>343816332
Also to add on, $130 i3 processor and a $130 grx 750 ti will rock the socks off an xbone and will match the PS4. You don't even need a seperate power supply for the 750 so you can literally pop the son of a bitch into an older tower with compatible parts and start playing with respectable graphics.
