I've been playing the same save of Final Fantasy 8 for over 10 years now, every day, for at least an hour.

I do the same routine every single time, which consists of just visiting several different places and talking to specific people a specific number of times, then returning to my "home" save point.

I have OCD and I feel bad things will happen if I don't perform my ritual.
>>
>>343782493
Where is that "home" save point, if I may ask

The Long Dark. Probably the best survival game released in literally years. Not the best game out there, still in development, but makes fine progress and the developer is pretty alright for updates.

When I still played Minecraft I could get pretty crazy.

Also, whenever I decorate my house in Morrowind I go complete certified Asperger syndrome.

Well, apart from the usual autistic things like keeping items I will literally never use even if it gets annoying, or re-doinging tutorials until I get them perfect, I don't think I do anything SUPER ULTRA autistic. Just basic autistic.
>>
i've gone through the entire map of Black Flag collecting EVERY SINGLE TREASURE CHEST before beating any other mission as soon as I was given access to boats.

Has anyone every not gone autistic in a video game?

How do you play anything for an extended period of time and not eventually get autistic about something?

I have the opposite curve in MMOs, I go from super autist to absolutely casual as I play them, and the allure of the bleeding edge endgame wears off, and instead I fuck off to explore.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who did this. Being a pirate was just too fucking great, I forgot there were missions.

Oh yeah, I once went through stalker SOC gathering up all the unique weapons without using them (they couldn't be repaired) and saved my game before doing any of the main missions, because I thought that when I would replay it, I could do so with all the unique weapons right where I wanted them, and I could easily mix and match without wasting time.

I knew damn well I was never going to replay that game when I started doing this.

She cries and gets violent if things aren't how she wants them to be/thinks they should be. She's better medicated now, but when she and I roomed together, it was hell. She'd give herself bald patches from pulling out her hair. I guess she could hide it pretty well, but if you spent any time with her outside of work, you found out kinda quickly.

I like being very efficient in games. It becomes detrimental when I get rid of a character just on the basis that I wanna try 'something new' even if I know I'll end up making that character again later cause I like it.
This weekend I opened Prison Architect 2-3 times and spent altogether 6 hours with no prisons made, I want my starting prison built 'right'.
I've spent my two weeks off playing Skyrim only to start a new character every 1-2 days just because I didn't like the race anymore or wanted to be more organized or 'try something new'. The mods don't help.

3, and it's a compulsion, not done for any other reason than to stop me feeling like awful things will happen to me or others if I don't do it. It's entirely irrational, but as rituals go it's better than what a lot of people get locked into doing.

When I play singleplayer games, I sometimes play like I have an audience watching.

Like, I do camera work in an Elder Scrolls title to show off the landscapes or don't skip the dialogue's voice acting.

I also do useless tricks here and there just to "make the audience laugh".

Weirdly enough I'm not interested in streaming at all. It would be an inconvenience.

In Oblivion, paint brushes weren't affected by physics so they would float in the air and you could jump on them.

I made a makeshift ladder of them and climbed up the tower in Imperial City, took about 5 hours and 200 save files.

The worst part is the top of the tower doesn't have a floor to stand on :(

I spent hundreds of hours making Littlebigplanet levels. Over time, I'd put more and more effort into the levels I made. The first level I made took about a week to finish and was just a short little minigame, the last level took several months and had a full storyline and fancy cinematic cutscenes, as well as multiple outcomes based on your actions.

I basically let the autism engulf me over time until it had become extreme. I don't regret though it was fun.

First you analyze the scene, then you get too see how it happened and check if your assumptions were correct.

I abuse games pretty hard. In the first day of playing almost anything I'll find game-breaking glitches. So for most games I'll spend hours on the starting level just beating my head against the wall finding exploits. I have no intention of finishing almost any game I play. I just enjoy the atmosphere while trying to break the game.
>>
>>343790832
you should be a playtester
>>
Yes, in Spyro 3 there is a weird anti-piracy thing going on where you get to the final boss but as soon as the battle starts the game cuts to the intro stage and deletes all your progress

I thought it was like a power the final boss had so i beat the game twice again just so i could get to the final boss and still the same thing happened

Pretty much wasted a weekend on this game alone

Whenever I play an online game I spend at least twice as much time looking for exploits than I do playing the game itself.
Then I have all these exploits written down that I don't want to use because I don't want to get banned.
And I don't tell anyone because I want to be the only one that knows how to use them.
So they're just sitting there and I never do anything with them, a fraction of them get patched eventually, and that's it
But at least I know I found them
>>
>>343791091
my friend did that for EA and it sounded like fucking hell. I mean it sounded like it genuinely sucked dick.

I would love to do it for a decent company though. Some games make me wonder how stuff gets past beta testing, whether is just completely bad design or obvious bugs. I know we've entered an age where games are churned out on deadlines for $$$ but some stuff really baffles me.
>>
When I make a character in a game I always think of a backgroundstory about him/her and play like that. I also talk in myself as the character when I discover new things or find creepy enemies.

This

On 2b2t, I walked manually (without using the "nether highways") to 200/k coords in a single direction (which took me literally around 20 hours of plain walking, with a couple more inbetween to make a giant food farm in the middle and resupply myself), just so I could run to a safe enough area where I pretty much dumped 500 to 600 hours of gameplay on an autistic castle fully built from 0 in the middle of an ocean. I would then spend an entire week building an underground tunnel to the nearest land mass that spawned cows, which was some 5k coords away, and manually dragging two cows through the entire tunnel so my castle has a leather/meat farm.

One of my friends then joined the server and begged me to get his character to me because he couldn't, so I manually walked to my coords for a second time. I would then proceed to take the entire castle down and rebuild it with a multiplied size in both length and height, and purely out of freshly-mined stone mined with the one perk that allows you to directly mine stone, instead of cobblestone.

I then expanded my castle downwards and built 10 levels of insanely huge food farms, up to bedrock. There was also a huge cow farm to the left of them, and a chicken one to the right. There were so many animals that I had to separate them between two chunks so I don't lag the server by loading both farms at the same time.

Good times.

>>343782493

i'm sure this isn't autistic by /v/ standards, but in Melee's trophy viewing mode I would turn the camera to see up female characters skirts, also would do the same in the GC Soul Calibur game, I think it had a replay mode or something.

in Mario Sunshine I would just run around the plaza for hours because I found it "comfy"

In GTA games I would pretend to be a normal citizen and obey the speed limit and stop lights.

Oh boy.

I used to play the shit out of PvP servers as a mongolian raider, playing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaRjEaWyxUo as I rode into peoples bases. I used to spend hours and days tracking people, piecing together their chat, looking for disturbances in the natural generation of the world like a misplaced block or a missing bit of dirt where you needed to dig to get out of a pit.

Once found a bunch of guys hiding in a base built into the side of a mountain, snuck in during the rain, using invisibility potions, to the outside of their base and blew the entire front section out with TNT and started picking them off from the tree tops in the dead of the night, in the pouring rain, they actually started attacking each other, believing that one of them had set off the TNT and the arrow impacts were from a sudden fight in the room.

I tracked another guy through the overworld, into the nether, back into the overworld and back into the nether over 2 nights and something like 60,000 blocks on foot and took everything in his caches and left signs indicating it was another large group on the server which he had splintered off from, pming got their coords and I offered to do a hit on them and resupply him, using portions of his own supplies in return, unbeknownst to him.

Bruh, I don't give a shit what people say about MC, the vanilla PvP experience is a raw survival simulator.

That pattern of tapping our fingers/feet/whatever, the one you just can't resist or explain why it is so arousing. The same one you probably thought it was your unique little secret that no one else did, right? :^)

Well, a lot of people actually do in that exact same sequence. What's even more interesting, it's a very logical pattern called the Thue-Morse sequence. What's even more interesting, the good sensation you feel in the middle of your brain when you do it, you will most likely feel it after looking at the geometrical results of the sequence. It's like all those ancient ayyliums theories are true and for some reason we have that pattern deeply encoded into our consciousness

Really makes you think eh?

I played CK2 as Britain. The more My empire grew, the more time I spent on the console and less in the actual game, because somehow, somewhere, all the time, there were counties/duchies/kingdoms not in their de jure duchies/kingdoms/empires.

Not only that, but I also saved the game, quit it, and edited the save file to alter de jure duchy/kingdom titles to make borders prettier, more balanced, and simpler. I also manually replaced over a hundred bishoprics with cities/castles because I didn't like bishoprics.

I even added a new development slot in one place in India where you couldn't get a castle as a primary holding because the only holding there at the moment was a holy site bishopric.

I finished world conquering in ~1200. Finished all the tweaking in ~1250. After that I just thought to myself "what the fuck am I doing with my life". Haven't touched CK2 since.

I'm on break at the hospital at the moment, but will post some stuff later if the thread is still live. But here's the basic jist.
The world has been pulled apart by constant, unending hurricanes that dominate the globe. It's been so long that humanity no longer even remembers what life was like before the winds, and survival is so difficult that they just don't really care. Humanity has survived in an unnamed city, in an interconnected system of high rise blocks in brutalist style architecture (google it, its disgusting). People and factions live up and down the flats, but there is also a tunnel system underneath (in the exact configuration of the Circle of Willis, the blood supply to the brain. Designed so that if there is a clot in one area, blood can still reach the brain by going around. Ergo if the tunnel system gets blocked, trade caravans can still go around). The beauty of this is, once you design the flats, its the same all up and down, so it would actually be pretty easy to fill and I'm a big fan of the storytelling of F:NV where you piece together what happened at a scene based on clutter.
The game starts with you on the floor in one of these high-rises (above the small community of Principillium. You see an ugly hag in the corner, singing to herself and washing some clothes. You take her by surprise, as she thought you were dead. She speak with a heavy scotting accent and she is very ugly. She gives you a quick breakdown of the world, before leaving you behind with your clean clothes. She is actually a "Bean nighe" - a scottish fairy that washes the clothes that are about to die (I'd like to use UK folklore throughout if possible). She explains you are whats known as a "Windswept" - a very rare occurrence where the outside wind picks up a person and they end up in the highrise system, you have survived the journey, but don't rememeber anything of the outside world (I'd like roleplaying to be fairly big).

It's a significant event however. You wouldn't be treated special because you yourself are fairly unremarkable, but it reinvigorates the populace throughout the system that there could be life outside the block of high-rises.
The first faction is The Church. It has fallen on rough times recently, but used to be the major and only religion in the system. They were red clothes with a black trim. They worship the human body and the maintenance of it, in peak physical form. They accept homosexuality ("free-loving" as it is called in The Stacks) because they see the beauty in the human body. They accept preservation of life above all, and desecration of the human body is a deep sin. The Church used to accept post-partum cannibalism, as they saw it, food was scarce in the stacks, especially protein, so to eat the dead so the living may live was seen as acceptable. However, times have moved on in The Stacks. Food is more available and cannibalism is becoming less accepted. They believe that humanity can only move forward by finding their way out of the stacks. They are my favourite as they are most interesting.
The biggest however, is The Capitol. The biggest city, centrally located. Carved into the rocks above it, behind thousands of arrow slits, are the guardians of the capitol. They are all armed with a high magnification sniper rifles, the only ones to wield them in the stacks. The red lights from their lasers dance around the city all day and night. They spend their days watching the people below, generally the poor, keeping order. Cracks ring out into the night, punishing criminals instantly with deadly efficiency. Suspended above the poor, are the rich. They are headed in a dictatorship fashion by a leader, who believes staying in the stacks is the way forward. He doesn't really see why they should risk moving out. Homosexuality is unacceptable in The Capitol, as is crime. The city is maximised for survival and carefully monitored and managed.

I used to LOVE open world games (before they became too prevalent and monotonous) and I was obsessed with getting on top of the highest building and jumping off.

I spent hours just jumping and gliding in pic related. I used to slowly pan the camera around as I stood on top of a skyscraper, and then I'd dramatically say "This is my city" and jump off.

Near the end of Jak 3 a large part of the map becomes one big warzone between monster and friendly soldiers. I'd stay near some soldiers pretending they were my comrades and fight alongside them. I'd do it over and over, getting sad when I lost a battle brother.

Next is the Peoples Faction For Democracy. They're more of the neutral group. They are a slow moving bureaucracy that think carefully between their next moves. They are headed by a Winston Churchill type character. The direction of the group and what happens is heavily decided by voting. Through winning votes by doing quests in the city they are located (Gentesurbanum), you can swing the groups they ally with the the ultimate direction they go. They have few strict hard and fast rules.
These are the main factions, there are a few others I really like. Possibly my favourite new one is the Hall of Whispers. A new faction that have popped up seemingly out of nowhere, they deal exclusively in information. Their main hall has confession style booths, you can walk in and clear your name for crimes by bartering with them or trade faction secrets for items yourself (as you can imagine in my autism, there are dedicated quests for each faction where they suss you as a spy if you rat too much). Their members are called "leaves", the faction leader explain that each time a whisper is uttered, even the smallest change in direction of the wind will knock of a leaf and carry that information home. They know a lot, and you can learn where hidden weapons are and stuff.
There is no central currency, its a barter type system. The merchants have classes (eg weapons, food, clothing, medical) and value different things more. Through a skill you can level up, you can see if a merchant is happy with the proposed deal. For example, a Weapons merchant has no need for the weapons you've picked up, he stocks them. But he needs food for himself and the guards, so he values food in a barter much more than the food seller does.

I made a merchant character in mount and blade warband

Travelled from major city to major city, buying things that were cheap in one and selling the objects in cities were they were expensive. Camped out at night, rode during the day, stayed in taverns when I was in cities

My combat stats were poor, my equipment wasn't made for fighting, I had an arming sword and buckler, with clothing on, a good portion of my money went to buying and paying for a small force swadian knights. I could win any of the random encounters with bandits

Since I wasn't a member of a faction, I only had to worry about bandits, and 15 swadian knights could smash through most bandit groups, and we could outrun anything we couldn't fight.

Considering doing it with the 1257 ad mod, due to the sheer size of the map

I cried at the end of Uncharted 4.

Autistic in a pussy sense, I guess.

In Oblivion, whenever I finished a cave or fort or whatever, I would go back and replace the bodies into different positions to make it look like a more intense battle then it actually was.

I think the most autistic I've gotten was organizing the attache case in RE4.

Underneath the stacks is the tunnel system. Prone to frequent attacks by bandits and the damned, its a dangerous place the travel. There are lots of weird and wonderful creatures I've come up with, ranging from mob style cannibals to full boss type creatures. I want the tunnels to be a fucking nightmare, to make hitting the next point of civilisation a huge relief. It will be very, very dim. Yous tart with a flashlight and have to navigate your way through. The major tunnels that run around from community to community aren't so bad, but the smaller tunnels that run from the major ones to the communities are pretty horrendous. There is also a faction you would be able to join that dedicates itself to dealing with the worst of the abominations that roam the tunnels. One abomination for example, has earnt the nickname "St George". A man driven mad by the loss of his beloved by another abomination, he believed he could protect himself by donning a suit of armour, probably swept in from a museum. Over time, his skin has fused with the armour. He roams the tunnels desperate the find the monster that stole his wife from him, but the visor is rusted, and his eyes and ears fused. He can't tell the different between human and monster, and charges any sign of life with his lance.

Anyway my break is pretty much over now, gonna get back to it. If there's any interest in this I'll carry it on, but I get it's a bit of a read and nobody likes and idea guy.

I can't play RTS games properly. Everything has to be upgraded. Every building available must be built before I can even think about attacking the enemy. The rare cases I do attack, I lump all units in a blob and pick off enemies one at a time. If the game has vehicles or singular "hero" units, I completely forget about my army and just control this one unit. In Halo Wars I always picked Arbiter just so I could take control and watch him tear through nameless grunts and fortifications. In DoW I take the commander unit and watch the animations to the point where I would forget about my base being attacked.

>painstakingly place every gem in my inventory into a brazier
>leave room
>re-enter room
>every single prop janks in place while the map loads, all the gems get violently propulsed forward and scatter to the floor
and that's when I stopped organizing anything in skyrim

I did too when the game was still newish. I knew there wasn't much depth to the combat and the story was short, but by god it was all I could think about for weeks. Even now, if I see a MGR picture in the catalog I check the thread even if it's an unrelated topic.
