There is no debate to this. You fucking retarded teenagers have been debating this for years, and it's how I know you're all new here. The debate has been settled hundreds of times, and yet here you are curious about the results. Let me break it down for you:
It's a choice for some games, but for others it is not. For example, I CAN use a controller to play a competitive first person shooter on PC, but I will be stomped by everyone else who is using kb+m because the mouse is far more accurate than a joystick. I CAN use kb+m to play a competitive racing game on PC, but I will be stomped by anyone who is using a controller because you get a lot more control out of the triggers and joysticks.
Beyond the actual physical limitations of each input device, this debate can be seen as fucking retarded simply because it doesn't matter what input device another person is using. It only matters in a competitive setting, and even then, it just means you're going to have a disadvantage and is that really a big deal to anybody? I figure out why I prefer a controller to KB+M. Using a KB+M I have to kind of lean over my desk and it promotes rounded shoulders. Using a controller, I can lean back a lot which is better for posture and also prevents my hamstrings from shortening (which is a big problem for desk use).

Keyboard is better for strategy games and fps games.
Controller is better for fighting games and racing games. RPGs I would think like keyboard better because of the expanded input possibilities.

Depends on the game.
- Racing games demand steering sensitivity for them to feel "right", and that is only achievable with a controller (or by using a mouse, but only Gearbox is retarded enough to do that).
- Shooters are objectively better on M&K, so are strategy games.
-Third persons and fighters usually benefit more from controllers because of camera controls and analog stick spinning for combos.
