Was willing to kill Corrin, the man he brought up, the one he claimed (and lied to) his whole life about being his brother. Was literally raving at the thought of being able to kill him.
Conquest: Literally the reason you have to invade Hoshido, because he's a fucking retard that can't think for himself and will only trust you when you slaughter enough innocent people for no good reason.
Even at the end of the route, with innocent bodies stacked to the ceiling and every sign possible screaming "THIS WAS A BAD IDEA" he still doesn't trust you. And then goes ahead and makes a completely hypocritical speech regardless.
Revelations: Again, raving at the thought of being able to kill the man he's lied to about being his brother his entire life. Ryoma in all three routes is reasonable, trusts you and listens to you, despite having almost no reason to. He never wants to kill you, even when you betray Hoshido... Xander is fucking getting off to the thought of killing you.
So finally he calms his murderboner and joins you, but he's long since been put on the "I'm gonna marry Azura so you don't get to breed" category. Luckily his kid sucks almost as much as he does.

Leo would be okay as a protagonist. Takumi, Ryoma or even Shiro would be cool for Hoshido.

I'm honestly disappointed neither of the crown princes took the Chrom role in their respective route, and instead were just doing random ass shit in the background up until the game decided you were far enough that it wouldn't break the game for them to join you.
Then they didn't even do anything once they actually joined.
In Awakening, Chrom would consult Robin when he needed tactical advice but once they had something concrete he'd take back the reins and plant himself on the vanguard.
There's way too many conversations in the two Fates routes where Ryoma and Xander are just outright telling Corrin to be in charge of shit Corrin has no business doing, especially when by this point you've also got Takumi and Leo in tow who are talented at tactics and strategy and are apparently consulted by their elder brothers in that regard, in their supports.

No, that's not the plot of Conquest. Garon's pretty much a Goo Monster controlled by Anankos in that route that's why the game happens the way it did. The Waifu Wars don't really have anything to do with the many storyline. It's briefly mentioned in supports and no where else really. Read up on how the gameplay features work(e.g. love system, money, repairing weapons, how criticals and doubling work in FE4's combat system, etc.), because the game, like all SNES games, assumes you have an instruction manual and will not explain how these things work until it is too late for you to fix it.
Also if you're so inclined look up hidden events. There's a lot of stuff that just isn't going to be obvious, like taking a character and dragging his ass across the map to stand on a particular spot so he gets this one item.
Also get some podcasts or something to watch on Netflix or whatever because you are going to be spending a shitton of time doing absolutely nothing but moving units across the map.
