I love Whiterun. It's basically the most vanilla Skyrim town. And I absolutely love rolling hills-esque environments so traveling outside of Whiterun is maximum comfy. Plus the snow forests are like 2 feet away as well if you're into that.

I got the mod that adds a basement to Breezehome to fix all the problems with the shit it has, and I have never changed my house location.

My only problem with the hearthfire homestead is, admittedly, because I'm a greedy prick in that I wish I could have ALL rooms options on one house.

A greenhouse, an enchanting tower, a library, an armory, a kitchen, a trophy room, all of it.

Also:
>tfw you adopt kids and need to carefully plan to trophy room's contents so if the kids accidentally stumble inside at night they don't flip the fuck out.

I mean, normally this wouldn't be a problem, but I've got a mod that expanded the gifts I could give them and they're packing dragonbone swords and bows/arrows.

I also wish I could hire a damn tutor to come teach my kids. I mean, shit, I'm with both Bards College and Winterhold College, I should be able to pay someone to be willing to take some time to come over and teach my kids.

>>343765000
Feel free to grab any house you see/that opens up. You'll have enough gold eventually to tank the entire Tamrielic economy through inflation soon enough.

Randomly, another thing that annoyed me about owning a home in Skyrim: no ability to throw parties and such.

I mean, shit, I would have loved to host a party with my fellow hold thanes and introduce my kids to some of the other children.

>that awkward but so natural feel of slipping into your bedroom during your party so you can change and finding Balgruuf fucking Elisif on your bed

>>343765170
Actually, you should be able to get it after the civil war under the new jarl. Unlocking the house involves first learning about the murders, which, I'm not sure requires your allegiance.

Shit, Breezehome's got good memories for me, it was my first home in Skyrim. I fondly remember this particular Random Encounter outing:
>My DB wakes up one morning and decides to go hunting to stock the larder
>Heads out of whiterun and keeps trying and failing to snag some deer (heavy armor, everyone)
>Finally get one
>Look up and notice I'm in a giant camp
>Fuuuuuuuck
>Survive the giants and mammoths with a lot of run and shooting
>kill them
>Notice I wandered into a crevice where bandits were hiding
>For the love of Jone and Jode, really?
>Kill bandits
>Start to head back
>Random woman comes up and tells me she escaped capture from a fort controlled by bandits that I SWORE I CLEARED OUT LAST MONTH
>Decide it's my duty as thane and Dragonborn
>clear the place out
>Shit, it's noon (in-game)
>Start to head back
>SUDDENLY! DRAGON ATTACK!
>Alkosh's double barbed dick, seriously?

That little outing pretty much made me think that was EXACTLY what a day-in-the-life of the average Dragonborn was.

Also, as for any shortcomings with breezehome: mods, yo.

Were you using Skyrim Family life overhaul to impregnate her or Beeing Female?

Also, another very rich experience in Skyrim:
>Playing with Daughteru Lucia in the tree plaza in Whiterun
>See a bunch of strange men in Akaviri-knock-off Dragon Priest masks coming up from the Plains district
>Tell Lucia to go home
>"But momm-"
>"NOW!"
>"Awww"
>She's clear just as they come up to me
>Alright, you fuckers, do you want your asskicking here or home delivered?

It was like right out of some kind of Skyrim movie.

Pretty sure that exists

>No mod to make Balgruuf join the Stormcloaks
Not sure this exists

>No mod to make Serena dragonborn
Think you could do this with Console Commands. (tricky part is if she'll use any of her shouts)

>No mod to make combat not terrible
>No mod to make magic not terrible
Define 'not terrible' and I'm fairly sure there's plenty of mods out there that help with both of those.

>No mod to make cities a believable size because "muh world space"
I've seen people add more buildings and shops as well as the settlement area immediately around the cities, as well as expansion of the non-loadscreen cities, but sadly few of them that actually increase the loadspace of the cities.

This one might just need multiple mods though to look up.

Okay I'll bite

>No questline overhaul/randomizer mod
How would you do that in a way that wouldn't break the game or it'd require a shitton of work for no pay off since nobody plays Skyrim anymore?

>No mod to make Balgruuf join the Stormcloaks
Wouldn't that go against his character? He doesn't want to pick a side. Might as well make a mod to make Tulius join the Stormcloaks.

>No mod to make Serena dragonborn
... why? You're the Last Dragonborn.

>No mod to make combat not terrible
Damage Multiplier

>No mod to make magic not terrible
Midas, Lost Grimoire and Apocalypse

>No mod to make cities a believable size because "muh world space"
That'd require remodeling the entire area in a lot of places since a lot of stuff can't have architecture built on. Again a lot of work with no payoff.

>No good FMA mods
Not sure what that is. Full Metal Alchemist?

I'm not saying that Skyrim isn't terrible and wouldn't benefit from a better story, gameplay and world. I'm saying there's a reason why these mods haven't been made.

I personally feel better mental healthcare is the best but also the trickiest solution.

Removing guns simply takes away a means, but if someone is deadset on harming another, gun or no gun will not keep them from hurting someone they want to hurt, and in today's society, too many people will refuse or cannot defend themselves when their life is in danger.

>>343767514
actually, weird question: do you want serana to be dragonborn or just to know shouts?

I mean I suppose in theory it would be a cool mod where as Dragonborn you could go on a quest to learn to teach Thu'um to others and start training followers.

The sex mods I'm using are the ones I listed. So, I'm not too knowledgeable about those types of mods. You'll also need body replacers, which you'll have to install manually. There's tons to choose from.

Somewhere in Riften area. Those autumn like forests. There's a quest to get it IIRC. I dunno about children but if you have followers and that one follower mod you can just say that they can use that house as their own. Works fine with married followers.

Because EVERY feature in relation to Skyrims combat is awful, you can point out absolutely anything about it and its shit. Animations, impacts, physics, weapon balance, the shitty 'kill moves', skills (or total lack thereof of anything interesting), weapon choice (fucking MADE spears and didnt even put them in), scaling, enemy types and diversity

Just every feature was totally off the mark. And for a AAA developer to still be releasing games with combat this trash is shameful.

Literally irrelevant. We are talking subjectively about Skyrims shit combat system, what you or I think has no bearing on the fact that many other games do an infinitely better job than Bethesda for combat.
>>
>>343772687
I have lots of complaints about Fallout 4, but I thought house ownership was massively improved over previous Bethesda games. The dialogue and character customization got simplified massively, but house ownership stuff got a bunch of new features and complexity and it all fit within their overall goal of simulating a world. That and the gunplay were the only redeeming factors.

>>343773148
I disagree with you. The world was shit and unimpressive. House ownership was flakey and unimmersive, the only real house available was in shitty baseball town that didn't make sense, and otherwise the most effective thing to do was just putting a safe in the middle of valley springs or whateverthefuck vault 101 town was called.

If Bethesda wants to include settlement building they can do it all they want, but not at the cost of the main game.

I would agree mostly, it seems to be split between those 30-40 year olds who feel their sacrosanct franchises have been defiled, and the late teens early 20s who want so desperately to be counterculture and be against whatever is new and popular, and do so by associating themselves with the old games.

A lot of it is probably just good old fashioned shitposting, though, and there is literally nothing wrong with that.

And Dark Messiah is a linear game with much less content on an engine that isn't as able to be modular as with other things. It's a fun game, but it had different aims and goals from Skyrim. Fuck, maybe even the community fixes will need to get updated if Beth bothers to implement some of them natively.

>GODAWFUL quests and writing.
Well this was a combat quickguide. Let me take a shit and I can easily compile a quest recommendation. I already said that everything from Trainwiz and 13oranges is good to go.

There are of course lots of other great lore friendly quest/land mods such as Undeath, VIGILANT, Darkend, Cowl of Gray Fox, Wyrmstooth, Spectraverse, Moon and Star etc. and also those which can enhance the vanilla ones such as The Choice is Yours, better/immersive markers etc. Also the bounty hunting radiant ones.

You can also make your own adventures with Guild Starter to build factions of your own and a bunch of class specific mods to enhance your RP and play time. Such as prayer/religion mod for paladins that make them specialized against the undead and demons or the shapeshifting and animal companionship to play a druid. Also this is one of the only games to allow you to make your own vampire thrall army in your own vampire castle. Or pretty much the only open world RPG to give you Lich abilities such as literally respawning inside of your phylactery when you die.

Just go to tesgeneral.com and check under new land/quests.

There are hardly any that fixes the vanilla quest and writing. They pretty much all take you to underground ugly linear shithole to kill/fetch shit. Even the non-radiant quests seems like shit you could generate in a spreadsheet, and the npcs often have the most contrived reasons for the quests or just plain generic.

I know but aside from sidequests there are some decent Civil War overhauls and faction overhauls like making the Bard's College an actual Bard faction complete with perks and animations with songs. Also quite a few mods to allow you to have multiple choices with some of the quests, such as refusing to obey Molag Bal and calming down the priest. Also joining the Vigilant of Stendarr faction before they're wiped out.

I won't defend the writing and blandness of most quests, I admit they're pretty weak which is why I mostly listed add-ons. The most fun I had in terms of questing when it comes to unmodded Skyrim is with the DG and DB DLCs.
>>
>>343776670
>I listed the optimal, compatible and tested mods. Most of those are very lightweight in terms of scripts. Hell the most essential ones are not even using any.
Not really.
The list you posted would take alot of fine tuning and time to get everything to work together without hiccups, meanwhile vanilla Skyrim is still going to be a buggy pile of shit that's going to fuck with the game no matter what, so it's a moot point. Moreover, it would take even more hours upon hours of worthless fine-tuning to get this integrated into an already established mod list.
I'm not even going to sit here and induvially point out the fatal flaws of each mod you posted, look them up yourself.
But to give proof, RotE is notiorus for fucking with enemy scaling and giving high-level mobs a huge amount of 1-shot kills spells.

>your list is shit
>I won't tell you why
>I won't post my recommendations others could use instead either
Anon I'm not touting "my" list to be flawless, just presenting the framework and listing few acclaimed mods that will enhance the overall experience. It's a "quickguide" not an in detailed step by step tutorial.

Sure "fine tuning" is needed but modding Skyrim was never hard or complicated to begin with, especially not with MO which provides you the luxury of fucking up without consequences. Mix and matching is not the issue, especially not when these mods are either compatible out of the box, are made to complement each other (COMBAT EVOLVED) or feature a compatibility patch. As you can see it's modular, optional and highly customizable. If there's something you don't like about it, don't install it. It's not restrictive like Requiem and that's the beauty of it.

>RotE is notiorus for fucking with enemy scaling and giving high-level mobs a huge amount of 1-shot kills spells.
Yes enemies can kick your ass but you're more than equipped to deal with them. ORDINATOR will make you a demigod as you progress which will make the combat against the enemies with enhanced AIs and better spells more hectic and faster. The Attack Commitment+TK DODGE also makes it fair to avoid damage in real time which is why I said it's more action focused.

>>343778963
Defeat.

I picked mods to complement each other, such as more patrols and enemies in the open world combined with more followers you can recruit at once will provide huge Mount and Blade tier battles so long as your PC can handle them.
>>
>>343779964
Now see, here's where your wrong.
You want more examples? Fine.
Action Combat and Ultimate Combat are both EXTREMELY script heavy, like most 'big' combat mods.
I'm assuming you can figure out what that means, otherwise you are wasting time.
Action Combat also uses cloak scripts which are generally unsafe and have high chances of causing safe bloat.
You want to continue to blindly defend your cause, go ahead. I've rested my case.

Honestly I never had any issues with it nor have I encountered people that did. I implemented AC to make alternative ways of dealing with turtling enemies because they were smart and conservative with the blocking and group defending. It adding shield breaking and parrying. If you're afraid of then by all means leave it out.

Ultimate Combat is however essential. It's THE best, most stable and balanced out of the "Big Three" combat overhauls; the rest being Deadly Combat and DUEL.

Unless you're some deviant who uses SoS with Aroused Creatures + MNC and Defeat you'll be perfectly fine. Also if you're smart and avoid abominations by Apollodown and Footprints mod.

Not really a case against anything but I do appreciate your input.

Hey fags it's worth to pirate the dlcs just to play requiem or Skyre?

I just finished vanilla Skyrim and even though It's shit I want more.

Do yourself a favor and skip both. You want harder gameplay, grab Revenge of Enemies or other assorted mods.

Yes. Requiem makes the game fun again.
I'd get rid of armor/stamina drain though.

Basically spreading out basic skills/abilities all over the place (you need tons of skill points just to function normally), and the creator clearly knows fuck all about the lore.

It's like wanting a gaming PC and then going with a prebuilt. It's barely passable and comes with tons of shit you don't want or need. If you're savvy you can get a much better experience picking out your own parts.

I'm surprised Requiem doesn't making breathing require skill points.

I honestly don't understand people who like Serana
she was obnoxious, her manner of speaking felt completely out of place, and half of her dialogue would only show up if you were extra nice to her

I was disappointed you couldn't kill her and taker the elder scroll the first time you saw her ending the quest right away

The spell that attaches to the enemies and then discharges an elecric arc on them doing more damage the farthest they are is the best shit ever

It's the fact that she doesn't at all. She never asks questions or seems curious, she seems to immediately understand culture and customs, etc.

Don't bother, people here have no idea how to mod Skyrim properly and all they can do is bitch about the combat, like it hasn't been garbage since Arena.
Btw your mod list is good, but could you please explain to me where is your Perkus Maximus or at least Skyrim Redone? It makes stealth gameplay fucking glorious.

Fuck I want to play Skyrim for another 600h now.

If you have a lot of mods, like 100+, and if you install them properly, can you actually complete a full play-through of Skyrim without it crashing and fucking you over?

crashes are gonna happen no matter what you do, it's a bethesda game
but as long as you do things right you should definitely be able to play the entire game

I have about 30 mods installed and I only crash like once every 2 hours
>>
>>343771627

>not including the Apocalypse magic mod

That mod alone makes illusion magic actually worth using.

Thanks for the list though, I'll check these out.

I also enjoy the mods that let you create a party of people and travel around, too bad it makes the game even easier than before.

>>343788391

What do you mean so I load fast? You mean for checking to make sure my installed mods don't CTD my game?
>>
>>343787258
dragons already get destroyed by the vanilla lightning storm spell

lightning is also the best magic, nothing beats going full Sheev on your enemies
>>
>>343788324
I have 250 mods and nothing crashes. Not to mention TES save files are unbreakable, you can add, remove, modify every script heavy mod, save over it, fuck with the .ini files, save again, it still won't break. People here are just fucking retarded and have no idea how to use a PC. Mod organizer, properly patched and merged mods, texture optimizer, extended memory allocation, save cleaners, and nothing will happen. My current save file is 650mb, 500h and it just werks.
