They recently announced that there is an in-game option to just go through the entire story without any powers at all- as in, early in the game the Outsider or w/e offers you the powers and you can just turn him down and do the game as a normal human.
Based on just that fact alone, that the dev team is aware enough of the criticism of the first game that they let players pick an alternate playstyle, I'm feeling optimistic for Dishonored 2. Hope I won't be disappointed.

It's not inconceivable that if she knew how to start the ritual to get Emily in there that she'd eventually find a way to break out of it.
Besides, if the outsider thinks you're interesting or thinks you can be a defining factor in upcoming events he usually nudges you in the right direction to help facilitate a chain of events.
Maybe she and Corvo have an uneasy alliance. They were straight up talking in the demo.
I doubt she's had a change of heart and she still wants the throne, but maybe Corvo temporarily needed her help with something. So the outsider told him how to let her out.

If you kill people early on, the game assumes that you find killing people more fun, so they give you more people to kill later.
Bad ending is hardly any fucking different, other than Sammy having a little tantrum.
The only difference is that Emily is a bit more hardened in the high chaos end.
