Because its not a Bioshock game, its just a shooter game with few interesting characteristics.
Usually when people say games like these are shit they really mean this game is okay but it's way too overrated.
If Bethesda games weren't so main stream there would be less hate surrounding it.
If Undertale didn't blow up there would be less hate surrounding it.

I think its okay to change things drastically like this as a writer.
Seeing a world past what was initially presented is satisfying as fuck
There was a kind of racism subplot that they chickened out of before they even got the tip of their dick in the controversy.
I think it was supposed to be addressed in the uprising with the Vox Populi because they're a revolutionary group made up of mostly the working class (i.e. black people), but then they're leader held a kid hostage so I guess I'm supposed to sympathize with neither side and also Booker is the bad guy and I wanna fuck Elizabeth.
Basically the game would be better if it was a hentai flash game where you fuck Elizabeth and suck on her pinky while she makes AMAZING facial expressions at you.
