Just got this yesterday from Amazon, it is quite possibly the most comfortable controller I have ever held.
Everything about it is tight and responsive, including the d-pad. It has a DS3 style R2/L2, which I prefer. You can turn off the lights on the buttons.
If you need a new gamepad its definitely worth picking up while its on sale.

I play a lot of fighting games, and I've found that I think I prefer the Xbox layout to the PS format...
And this coming from a person who has always thought the PS controller was the pinnacle of controllers.
The problem with the pad placement for PS controllers is that as you 236 or 623 for special moves, your thumb will nudge the analogue stick and cause a misinput. With nothing below the Xbox dpad, you don't have that problem.
There's a lot of 236 and similar inputs in fighting games.
So it isn't just changing an angle your thumb points sometimes.

the d-pad seems a lot better than the 360 version anyway, the main problem I had was the fact that it was literally a circular shaped lump of plastic with a cross imprinted on it. catching onto the weird plastic bits between the "buttons" was the main source of pain.
Just give it analog triggers, clickable analog sticks and give it it's own wireless receiver so you don't need the Wiimote and you have a fantastic controller. Still great even without those things.

Why would I use Fkeys or a numpad in gaming? I don't play sims like ARMA or DCS, and those are the only games in the last two decades I've seen need the numpad. I can't think of any games beyond RTS or MOBA titles that use the F keys, and those can be remapped to the number row without losing any functionality.

Maybe it wouldn't work for you, but it's perfect for me. Again, literally, 100% size keys. It has every key that I use in any game, anything from Dota to Quake, Civilization to Overwatch (I play fighting games with a stick, so this setup doesn't matter in regards to those titles). The keys are in the same exact place, the same exact size. It just doesn't have the keys I don't need for gaming, which means that the distance between my left and right hand is lessened, which is better for posture and health. I could have gone with one of those shitty Razer Nostromo things, but then I couldn't type at the same computer. I'll never need to run a spreadsheet on this thing, and I have an alternative keyboard for my workstation in the first place.

It's smart controller design. There are a lot of games where there is a lot of tense pressure on the left thumb, if it is contracted, like on a dualshock, you will hit R3 by accident a lot of the time. While on the xbox your left thumb is elongated, it moves fluently with the thumbstick and you have a better ability to control fast inputs for fighting games, and any game that would feature playable characters with fast receptive controls.

I had one and it's a solid controller. I was sick of the DS4's shit battery life and wanted something wired.
The triggers are technically still analog but you have to press them really hard to get them at 100% down, gave myself cramps playing Arkham Knight.
Sold my PS4 on Craigslist, only one offer for the console but I got three asking about this thing.

It's okay for me to use over the joysticks for playing fighting games and arcade like games. But I can see why you'd hate. But can you tell me what's an example of a good D-Pad? Would it be like the Genesis/Saturn contoller or more like the Nintendo style D-Pads?
