PC version is 4k 144hz with mods. The PS4 version only looks better at 1080p which is such a low resolution for a game that runs this well. It's optimized like DMC4.
If you care about graphics and gameplay you get PC. And it's cheaper with digital goodies.

Don't know what to compare it to but it's a good game. The game although it's kind of slow. The art and story are really good. The first few chapters suck but once you get farther into it and start recruiting people the game gets more complex. If you do t like turn based strategy then stay far away.
I remember when the PC version came out people found out that if you manually turned the game up to 60 fps that the interception fire rate was upped too for some reason.
Is that true for the 60 fps PS4 version too? I'm getting wrecked bad at points I didn't the first time around.

The game is good, gets a bit boring once you figure out how to cheese everything and the story is a bit cliched. The PS4 version had some graphical enhancements over the PC version but since it's currently steam summer sale the PC one is cheaper. The physical versions of the game depend on your region. The US one had a steelbook version, the EU version has a regular case and a small artbook / poster in it.

high resolution(easy as fuck to run it higher than 4k)

They say the draw distance and grass has been improved when their comparisons show it's exactly the same, and it is the same for the entire game. All of the comparisons have more aliasing on the PS4 version and they're not even using GPU tweaks to make the game sharper, have more AF, and they clearly aren't adding the mods into the comparison. Not that the PC version even needs that, you just have to increase the resolution.
PC is objectively better visually outside of the FMVs and there are mods that improve the gameplay.

VC2 was a fucking mess, especially when it came to characters. There's a reason why VC1 characters are remembered and beloved, hell even some VC3 characters have fans but no one ever talks about VC2 characters except for the very rare mention of Aliasse (because delicious petite Valkyria.)
I'm still mad about Juliana, her and Zeri had the only decent chemistry and development in that entire fucking game and they threw it away.
But to answer your question, Zeri was clearly a lot smarter and more progressive than most people so it makes sense that he'd reject the traditional Darcsen teachings.

No. I actually do like high school settings and I did enjoy the game quite a bit but it has some serious problems. The upgrade tree is poorly handled, the characters are mostly forgettable (especially the main ones,) the story is meh, the maps are tiny, the character limit is tiny. It just has a ton of flaws.
Again, it's a good game but 1 and 3 have it beat by far.

I played on release and that was one of the things that I never experienced. It was 60 FPS all the time. Machineguns were brutal but no frame drops ever.

I'm playing through it for the first time, I'm really enjoying it.
Kinda stuck on the mission where you have to blow up a bridge, all the videos I've seen of the mission involve making your scout speed through all the enemy fire, is that really a good idea?
Also I wouldn't mind some tips on what units to use, no one on my squad has died so far, even during the chapter where the woman goes super saiyan and wipes out units in 1 shot.

I think it's precisely the opposite bud. Nobody in VC2 can die (which is itself an issue, but it does have benefits) which means that they can have scenes with them all game long. As opposed to VC1 grunts who can drop dead at any time, so instead of wasting time to create cutscenes you might never see the developers just stuff all you'll ever know about them into their little profile page.
If you ask me about characters like Mischlit or Annisette I'll know who they are and what their stories are. But if you told me the names of most of VC1's roster I probably couldn't even tell you what game they were from if you didn't tell me beforehand. "Ted"? Who the fuck is "Ted"? "Homer"? Never heard of him. The only one who is burned into my brain in Jann, and that's because his faggotry was so irritating I couldn't burn it from my mind.
There were parts of VC1 that were certainly better than 2 but the characters were beyond forgettable. And the core ones weren't that great. Rosie and Largo were irritating and Welkin was fine when he wasn't sperging about biology, which amounted to maybe 20% of his dialogue. Alicia and Isara were both great but you need more than 2.5 characters to have a good cast.
