That's just because Andrew Dice was a massive drama queen who acted unprofessionally and misled them as to how much progress he was actually making. Also he turned out shoddy work by not checking that terminology was consistent with FC and by using a script format to save his work, so after XSEED seized back control they had to spend weeks fixing all his fuckups manually before they could get back to the job of actually translating.

Lots of Japanese PC fans (think PC-98 era) bought Falcom games because they were a premier studio, same during their Windows era and same now for Vita. A bunch of old Falcom fans are probably too old and burdened to play games, sadly. Point is, we've still got a long ways to go before we can notably influence their development schedule and priorites (aka making games with PC in mind for the Western digital distribution market). China sales of Falcom games still bring in more revenue.

I'm stuck on a laptop with Windows 8 for the time being. I downloaded my copy of LoH3 (Zwei!! just would not download for some reason) and it boots up perfectly fine so that's a good sign. I haven't actually gotten around to playing it though. Though that is concerning; When Neptunia first jumped on Steam EVERYONE bought it, and it was mostly because Japanese games were a foreign thing on Steam at the time. Now Japanese games are fairly common and sales seem to be much lower for anything priced higher than $20. With the exception of really big titles like Dragon's Dogma, I'm worried the smaller titles might actually start underperforming.

Each new MH installment focuses on refining the gameplay and adding more monsters, making the main series a PC game as well would inevitably force them to focus on making their game shiny and pretty for all the graphics babies that can't understand that games weren't always 4k instead of actually investing in what matters. The day PC gets a mainline MH game is the day the series becomes dead to me.
