My favorite last boss in a western game is actually the one from Planescape:Torment. There are just so many ways you can deal with him based on how you built your character. You canbeat him in a 1v1 fight, trick him to ressurect your friends, believe him out of existence, and even force him to fuse with you, becoming a god, among other things. It was a very satisfying way to end a RPG that is mostly based on talking to people.

I just got shadow of mordor for $5, played through the entire game, it was pretty fun. It wasn't anything spectacular but I enjoyed it. The whole game was spent hyping up the final boss as this unstoppable killing machine, the black hand of sauron, and then when you finally find him, it's literally a five second long, two button press qte then straight to credits. I was so fucking mad. I just wanted to fight that faggot but the game was like "nah, cunt, have a qte instead, that's what the kids like so everyone's gotta have it"
