Many people were upset by the nationalities of the members of this team, but how much different is it than before? In '94 team Italy was represented by two Americans and a Japanese, Team Mexico was represented by an Italian, a Japanese and his halfu son and Brazil was represented by American Mercs.
If they changed Team South America to team Brazil How would it be different that Team China from '94 (2 chinese and a Japanese girl)? If a character's nationality were changed from Team South America it'd likely be Nelson, but what would they change it to?
Lastly if you could make a new South American character how would they be designed/play that wouldn't make them a country's stereotype since KoF doesn't stray too much into that territory?

The nationalities on that image are something that someone on tumblr made up, last I checked, and I don't think they ever said that everyone and everything would be SEA based, just that it would be a big inspiration for stuff, which it has been for enemies and shit like the Preta and the Ahp in the prototype, and stuff like the Indonesian bat thing that they have shown elsewhere.

The chinks didn't even buy them out until a good chunk of XIV was already made. And we can be sure as hell that they didn't give them any money either otherwise the game wouldn't look like the way it does. It's not the best thing out there, but it's not the worst thing in the world either. Best way to look at XIV is as a stepping stone so SNK can get back on their feet so they can make better quality stuff in the future.

When I was younger I had no one to play with so I just stuck to arcade mode too. Since none of my friends played fighting games I had no one to play with, adapt, grow and in turn couldn't improve. Playing online wasn't quite viable yet when I started playing. I'm looking forward to XIV because it's something fresh with huge influences from 98 and 2002 gameplay-wise and since people will be learning it and getting used to it I might find some people around my level to play with.
