Zelda is your what /v/?
Zelda is your name.
>>343631184
Sister.
Or destiny would make sense too.
>>343631184
Did you just name the character Anon so that you could screenshot it for this thread?
>>343631272
Wait, is she really?
I remember the game ending right after defeating Ganon, was there a way to talk to Zelda at any point beforehand?
>>343631184
>that filter
kys
Zelda is my... ... ...
>>343631509
of course
it only takes like 40 seconds to get there
>>343631578
You have no life but I enjoyed the extra effort for your shit thread.
I get it OP. You just want to talk about filters.
>scanlines
kys yourself.
>>343631554
>>343631705
No idea what you guys are talking about
>>343631705
ok, you got me
this is /v/ after all.
if you want to talk about something, you need a dummy subject that can be derailed to that something.
>>343631917
INFORMATION CONTROL
BATTLEFIELD CONTROL
>>343631782
ok, the filter is lame
but actual scanlines are based
kys
>>343631782
> he thinks old games weren't made with CRTs/scanlines in mind
>>343631705
It's a shader, it's not filtering anything in the game. You can apply an HQ4x filter and then apply a scanline shader on top
>>343631554
>>343631782
so you fagots rather play old games like this?
>>343632548
No they weren't. Just like now, coding back then was performed on PCs rather than consoles themselves and computer monitors did not replicate a TV image.
>>343632771
>coding back then was performed on PCs
And then playtested on a console connected to a SD TV you sperg. Old consoles use all sort of tricks to make use of the dithering and the blur caused by TVs
>>343631184
Right hand (it comes off.)
>>343631184
"Zelda is your... ... ..."
>*RECORD SCRATCH*
>*FREEZE FRAME*
>*ZOOMS IN ON LINK'S UNCLE*
>"Bet you're wondering how I got here... ... ..."
>"Well it all started last night... ... ..."
>>343632762
Rather that than with a shitty scanline overlay, yeah. Any day
>>343632771
they were coded for interlaced signals, which means interlacing artifacts/scanlines
>>343632762
I love a good crt shader but this doesn't look bad. The only way to mimic a CRT is by using crt royaly on a 4K lcd or above
>>343632762
it looks much better than the OP pic, so yes.
>>343632762
that's how I saw it in my old TV
are you fucking blind?
>>343633723
Hipsters these days seem to think all retro systems ran on RF adapters and not proper AV cords, apparently.
>>343633723
>that's how I saw it in my old TV
please tell me the model of your artifact-free pixel-perfect digital-signal "old TV"
>>343634052
I don't live in africa
you can come to my place and start a new life if you want anon
>>343631184
Typical shitposter that uses HQ4x.
>>343634049
half of 4chan doesn't even know what an AV cable is, like this guy: >>343634207
>>343632762
Not even my old CRT had blatant scanlines and shit image quality like the OP image.
Yes CRTs had flaws and limitations, but every damn person going out of their way to emulate the "retro feeling" of CRTs greatly disrespects CRTs and have either completely forgotten or possibly never known of the quality CRTs actually have. They're not fucking shit.
Why do people use those shit shaders that just add scanlines with no thought involved and make everything dark and shit? Use crt hyllian, easymode or royale.
>>343635173
Not even the best CRT television in the galaxy can do completely pixelated graphics due the way 240p mode works.
The television is designed for displaying 480 lines of image, with 240 lines being sent per frame, thus completing a 480i frame every two real frames.
But as its the picture generator itself that controls which of the 240 lines are being sent (odd lines or even lines), it can simply always send only the odd or only the even lines, keeping half of the lines dark, while the other lines gets updated at actual real 60 frames per second, and its what all consoles of the era did.
You don't see the black lines because the CRT scanline is "fat", and as it is being refresh twice as fast, it is also twice as bright.
Also unless you used SCART, your horizontal resolution would be probably not very sharp either.
This video shows several CRT screens in action and explains all the bullshit better:

>>343635650
And yet the end result looks nothing like >>343631184.
>>343631184 is not how ALttP actually looks like on a real CRT.
waifu
>>343631184
Zelda are my games collecting dust in the closet.
>>343635937
Yes yes.
I'm talking about scanline, CRT filters etc etc etc..
That thing is an horrible aberration of nature, that MAYBE looks good if you're playing from far on a hdtv, but on PC monitor close is heresy.
>>343635368
top: original, easymode
bottom: easymode-hallation, hyllian
royale is not working on this computer for some stupid reason.
>>343636209
Hyllian is the PS2 filter?
>>343636494
>PS2 filter
what do you mean?
>>343636748
All that bloom that reminds me the PS2 games that overused it to hell.
>>343636209
Bottom left looks best.
>>343637071
That is a MARKED improvement
Please tell me what settings
>>343637071
now THAT looks like shit
>>343637367
You are absolutely goddamn crazy
It looks the absolute same except greatly smoothed over so as to look decent on a higher res TV
>>343637225
pls i'm srs
getting it to look like this would be a great excuse for me to play this game for the 8th time
>>343638604
>only played SotN 7 times
>>343637225
>>343637071
Dam I SHOULD play SoTN. Just Cause 3 is boring I lack the attention span to play witcher
>>343636209
Offical ranking: bottom left, top left, top right, bottom right.
>>343639448
None of those games are even similar.
