Was this a good game?
I just finished playing the first two games and Off The Record. I'm going to get it no matter what but I want to know what I should expect.
Most people did was take a bunch of screenshots..
If you check the threads, they're jam packed with them. Altogether it was OK, as far as criticism goes.

If your computer can handle it, it is a pretty enjoyable game.
Ridiculously easy compared to 1 and 2, in my opinion. But still fun regardless

OP here.
I liked the first game plenty, definitely a lot of fun and hard as balls when I first played it and the soundtrack is great. Two I actually liked more even though Frank and the camera system was dropped but DR2 actually introduced me to Celldweller and Blue Stahli in the first place. Off The Record was a neat idea, basically two but with more content and an alternate story with Frank who is much cooler then Chuck definitely.
I actively avoided everything DR3 related when it was announced because I wanted to be blind to it until I finished the other games and from what I understand DR3 features no songs by Celldweller or other independent artists which is already a bad start for me. Songs by independent or not so well known artists as psychopath themes was one of the biggest appeals of the series to me.

Dead RIsing 3 is the worst of the games, but I still think its fun.
The crafting system is really, really good. There are so many fun weapons to use and experiment with. The mission design is kind of similar, and it has some great psychopaths.
The negatives are the characters, and I kinda don't like the setting as much. I much preferred teh intimate settings of the first two games, this feels a bit less focused.
It runs like shit or looks like it unless you've got a high end system. I'd skip it and play Dying Light senpai.
Worst in the series but otherwise okay.

It takes place in a city rather then a mall right?
How big is the map compared to previous ones?

I only hate it for how it attempted to be a serious Zompoc game, while your character was wearing a jacket made of thongs and using supermegaultra bluntblade 3000 with grenade launcher to kill zombies.
I think the first Dead Rising had cheesy, cliche writing and an over-the-top atmosphere but both sequels, which were made by Capcom Vancouver with Inafune's blessing, had the story and characters take themselves too seriously which, with wacky zombie killing, made a bizarre and awful contrast. It's even worse because there have been a thousand zombie games released inbetween the first and third games which have the exact same serious story attempts, but it was only the first game that was silly in both aspects that made it unique
Oh and DR3 had the worst Psychopaths out of the bunch imo.

Alright, I'mma tell you a little story:
>In the far away past of the 2000's, some chink devs got drunk one night and made Dead Rising, a tough as nails Dawn of the Dead simulator with tons of cheeky fun.
>It's a fucking hit, they do the next one.
>It's a bit fairer and easier, and has a lot more goofs with the combo weapons.
>A little studio in Vancouver is given the task of making a DLC with Frank West
>They do an okay job, but it's clear they have a different idea of how to handle the series, and OTR is the easiest game yet, you get lots of money and zombrex at the first day and you have a lot less tension going around, the focus is all about mowing zombies and sandbox fun, but thankfully they had the smart decision of providing a campaign mode and a sandbox one.
>For some reason that same studio is given the task of making the next installement, and they continue with their design vision of the series, easy grabs, sandbox fun and barely any tension. It provides a fun experience with no wheight.
>The focus on a bigger world made harder to make a thight timer, so they decide to make one so big it doesn't even count.
>And since no one corrected them, they're still keeping that up for part 4.
>to be continued
