/v/ has become mainstream
>>
>>343577761
because they buff/nerf endlessly based on the forum drama. it makes them feel relevant.
>>
Because they're a big corporation that puts tons of money into PR so they come off as non-threatening and bland as possible to attract the largest amount of buyers who are willing to ignore all their shitty business practices.

>release games on time
>no kikestarter cancer
>everything feels polished and well made
>no on disc dlc or really dlc at all minus expansions

Say what you want about their games, but blizzard actually makes some quality games.
>>
>>343577994
Uh, Blizzard has been making mainstream games for years which /v/ has enjoyed

How new are you?
>>
>>343579935
>>everything feels polished and well made

This is the most important one.
>>
>>343577761
Because they used to make very good games.
Then WOW went to shit and so did Blizzard.

Because once upon a time they had some good, creative devs and bought a studio with more of them. Many of those people have left to fit their lives, find new projects, or just been promoted to the point where they cannot be as hands on with the actual game design anymore. Any company in games that trades on a big brand name doesn't want too much attention brought to this because it points out that a studio name is just that, and holds no guarantee of quality work.

Why do big vidya game companies trigger /v/ so much? They're gonna keep making games and people are going to keep playing them regardless of what anyone here says.

diablo III was a shitfest and you know it. stop being a blizzdrone.

Am I seriously bitter? Am I that out of touch with modern gaming? I had my days with all blizzard franchises over the past 15 years but I am truly struggling to love Overwatch. Everyone (including my friends who share the same tastes as I)

It just feels like the end product of millions of dollars of research and testing. Everything is so calculated and tweaked for maximum return of gratification. It bores me to death. Its closer to a mobile game rather than a competitive shooter to me. I'm already sick to death of all the character noises.

Maybe I'm just a bitter angry asshole, or maybe blizz hasn't even reached their final for; trapping 10 million players for the inevitable jew-out.
>>
>>343579935
A polished turd is still a turd.
>>
>>343577761
Because they made some of my favorite games of all time. Shame that they paired up with activision and became maniacs that don't give a fuck about quality and just want to make money.
>>
>>343581936
Man, Warcraft and Starcraft were my childhood/high school. I played the shit out of Diablo 2. I'd play it during class on my laptop. It's one of the things people knew me for. It was my thing.

Tried the first Starcraft 2. Couldn't finish it. Never got the other ones. I was completely disgusted with D3. I even gave it a second go when the expansion came out. Can't do it.

I gave modern Blizzard a more than fair shake. It is them. Not me. Blizzard is not what it was. They simply don't produce quality anymore. It's all watered-down, style over substance, cash-grabby bullshit.

Most of /v/ is 19 and under now and want to feel apart of the board's culture so they hate on big games and developers as a way to stick it to the man.
>>
>>343581936
It feels bland to me but at least four of my friends are madly in love with it.
>>
>>343581936
It's an accessible fast-paced shooter that also cashes in on the moba-like competitive scene. Nothing else to it really.
>>
I saw the end of their integrity.

They merged with Activision and it was OVER. They're still trying to pretend as if they're an independent company. You sad fucking liars.

Nope you're not out of touch, its a shit game that is nothing special.

Correct it is basically a mobile game, half-assed reused assets of something they were trying to create. Flaws are truly what made you love older games and newer ones are getting better and better at buffing out the flaws that allow you to play a game with choice. The closer you get to having to play a dev's vision of how you play a game the more boring it actually is.
Balance isn't fun, a game with no real rough edges isn't fun. Its a thinly veiled skinners box that is almost perfectly balanced to try to get you to buy things, more an advertisement than a game.

Overwatch is the be all end all of a "safe" game. It does nothing that could fail, and in the process it does nothing new. It's fun sure, but I can't shake the feeling that it's everything I've seen before. The artstyle is bland, the characters are bland, and it just feels heartless and processed.
