X-Com, Final Fantasy Tactics, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - top three, IMHO.
Then there's plenty of other RPGs from Square Enix (Final Fantasy games, Dragon Quest, I think Kingdom Hearts too) if you're into the genre.
Natsume has a somewhat decent mobile clone of Harvest Moon called Seeds of Memories for about nine bucks.
Rockstar has all sorts of Grand Theft Auto games you can buy that are really good with San Andreas probably being the best one (control-wise and just quality of the port overall) of the bunch.
There was a pretty cool Puzzle Bobble / Bust-a-Move game on Taito's store page too I think.
You can get all sorts of Sonic games from Sega too, with Sonic CD playing really nicely with the mobile controls for example.
Then there's ports of classic games like Little Big Adventure etc.
Plus point and click adventure games like Beneath a Steel Sky or Broken Sword. And from new ones Sword & Sworcery EP was really fun while it lasted.
So yeah contrary to the popular opinion there is some quality gaming to be had on the platform.
Protip:
Search not only by game series name, but also by the company and then "show more apps from this developer", you can find lots of cool shit you may have had missed otherwise.
