It's the best JRPG I've played in a long time.
You play as generic everyman with his retarded childhood friend who gets thrust into the world of idols, except idols are actually monster fighters trying to save the world.
The plot is basically pretty forgettable and it's nothing you haven't seen before in at least a hundred other animes, but the battle system is fucking STUPID good. Your characters get more actions as they level up, so you can start comboing moves into other moves, or chaining specials together, or singing a big dumb concert and chaining the other girls' moves together, all combined with a turn order system where you want to speed up or slow down yourself and enemies to get them or yourself affected by buffs and debuffs. It's a game that has no god damn right being this good, and yet here we are.

Bullet Girls was a solid 6/10, nothing great, nothing terrible, sometimes figuring out missions was difficult but I knew just enough Japanese to get me through it. The torture minigame is absolute hell though, and required to get through the game
