opinions on gay maker?
im making a living thanks to Gamemaker. so its pretty great
I don't know the full extent of it's capabilities from a programming standpoint, but there's some pretty good stuff made with it so I guess it's good enough depending on what you want to do.

switch statements are perfectly useful for certain situations, and can very often make code less overly complex (unlike if else garbage)

Sprite based games absolutely need to work on a by the frame basis. It's just more natural that way

This OP literally just needs to make an array of blocks[block1 ... block∞] and then replace his giant switch statement with one line that points to blocks[id_block]
If there's a way to iterate through the "objects" folder it would be like two more lines to create the array
This might be fine for a simple game like this but it's worth learning the right way because it will expand to 5000 blocks without having to do anything at all
