We don't know but he did state "New Elona". This would be a big intensive to buying a paid Steam version desu. I don't think even Elona+ has stuff like 1080p resolution support and the engine itself is a bit outdated too.

Let's not beat around the bush. Vanilla Elona is far inferior to Elona+. I don't know what Noa would have to come up with to make people switch over to his version. There is no one who would choose the regular version over to the vastly superior Elona+ which is update regularly.

Hey vanilla Elona was fun as fuck too. Also it's pretty obvious it'd get updated content too and since Noa would actually get money he could probably hire a real translator to translate the story and everything new he'd add too. He also did state "later this year", it's pretty obvious there's something big going on otherwise he would just put Elona right now.

The guy that made the game, Noa, stopped working on it a few years ago. People that picked up where the original author left off, namely Ano, are working on the fork of the game to this day.

Yeah, I never played the original but I've sunk tons of time into Elona+. Never really questioned it, just figured it was the Roguelike way of things. Like Nethack and those derivatives.
It will be tough to play something less than Elona+ though, if it's too far separate by now.

It shows how broken the casino is. 23 wins in a row and a garbage item as a reward. Great means it's not even an artifact. I think Elona+ fixed a little bit that so you get some good stuff if you get lot of wins in a row.

Personally I hope he will collaborate with Ano and release Elona+ on Steam, but this is highly unlikely. Either way, news about Elona coming to Steam is something I never would have dreamed of.

Personally I'm really happy about it. Personally I don't mind whatever he chooses. Personally while I did like Elona+, I felt it went place a bit strange and the game was made much easier due to the revamp of skill and such. I say it would be nice if Noa went ahead and updated his original game and see how it went.
