Someone in the Smash community even tested a Wii with an HDMI converter on an EVO monitor and the converter added 2ms of lag, totaling 12ms of lag total. That's less than a frame (16ms).
It is funny to me that smashers will insist on CRTs even though people have already proven that many CRTs lag more than HDTVs.

Yeah losing doubles is TOTALLY understandable given that CEO is essentially EVO Jr. That shit is packed time-wise and there's got to be a counterbalancing any decision that adds time to a game's tournament. I think though that they're just dropping doubles and keeping the somewhat lame lack of 3/5 til top 6 or something. Of course I'm disappointed about the changes, but CEO is still a hell of an event. Melee kind of sucked this year, but it was mainly just that a few great players dropped out last minute so it was less exciting and had brackets that were a huge mess- no reflection on the tournament itself though.

In terms of the main hall with the ring every crowd was about the same and none of them smelled bad, was in there for both smashes, tekken, and checked in on a few others. The worst smell was in the smash room for pools on Friday ,but in their defense the room had very little space for setups, wasn't that big to begin with, and it was overcrowded to the point where spectators had to be kicked out. Plus the AC just couldn't keep up so nearly everyone was sweaty. Worst part was that pokken was right in the middle of the room and had more than enough space, even on Friday when it was just friendlies while both smash games pools were going on.
