It sounds pretty great and outside of ME3s dodgy aspects (shit tier ending, Kai leng etc) it was still a pretty great game with fantastic DLC.
Outside of /v/ memes, Mass Effect is undoubtedly a more consistently good franchise than Souls/Witcher/MGS yet those games are still loved, why is that? All of the Mass Effect games were at least good whereas Souls had Dark Souls 2 (shit), Witcher 3 is the only good Witcher game and MGS had MGS4/Peace Walker/MGSV that were all mediocre.

Mass Effect built up the hype to the Reaper battle and it did so EXTREMELY well to the point that nothing could have met expectations and admittedly, they fucked up BAD.
But hear me out, I genuinely think that objectively speaking, removing both games hype (Mass Effects ending was obviously more hyped than Witcher 3s ending. The sequels barely felt like they were connected and Witcher 1, 2 and 3 all felt as stand alone games, nobody really questioned how Witcher 3 would end prior to release in the same way that people did with ME3).
Listen, the Star Child got shat on for being a huge Deus Ex machina but didn't Witcher 3 have the EXACT same thing with Ciri? At least mass Effect explained HOW the star child defeats the Reapers, Witcher 3 doesn't even bother to explain how Ciris blood stops the White Frost.
Shit, the White Frost was on the side lines for 99% of the game trilogy and they only take centre stage at the end when the Wild Hunt get rekt. The Wild Hunt go from being the menacing force to "LEL, WE WANNA TIME TRAVEL AND SHIET" with zero depth to their motivations.
At least the Reapers had some depth and ironically, despite them being fucking robots they actually had good motives for what they did. Witcher 3 had none of this and in terms of deus ex fuckery both games had that.
Mass Effect 3 is only judged more harshly because the series was nothing BUT build up whereas nobody really gave two shits how the Witcher 3 would end.

The ending scene of ME2 where you see the reapers coming down was possibly the most hype i've ever felt by the end of a game.
The game went on the sidelines in a more focused/personal story with more focus on characters than the overarching Reaper threat and that's perfeclty fine by me,
