I've bought 50 loot boxes and have 250hrs in the game and now I'm permanently banned. How is this allowed? I can understand a temporary ban, but a permanent one? Seroiusly fuck Blizzard never buying a game from them again. Gonna chargeback those loot boxes too.

I disagree, you would receive similar or worse consequences for equivalent actions irl.

Dumb kids need to learn to be responsible for their actions rather than being taught they can get away with anything with a simple slap on the wrist and are entitled to special treatment, and OP should be glad he learned this lesson on some stupid game than facing worse circumstances for doing something similar irl.

I also think it's much wiser Blizzard enforce a zero tolerance policy to ward of attempts at hacking in order to maintain the spirit of the game, rather than issue warnings with little consequence and risk at people wanting to exploit the game.

Deal is, I don't even play Overwatch, I just came to laugh a the idiot OP. But he definitely got what he deserved. The fact that he spent 250$ on cosmetics tells me that he's an entitled brat with zero self control, and he was definitely due for a rude awakening.

from youtube it looks like wallrun causes something to happen but because he is wall running on the slope of the ramp leading out of spawn there is no downtime so he can spam wallruns so fast the server dies essentially to too many wall run events happening in such a short time
what is more amazing is that this can crash the match instance, blizzard quality i guess

Great bait thread, op's image is from reddit.
>>
> you would receive similar or worse consequences for equivalent actions irl.

This isn't really true. Companies have to make products under the assumption that their consumers will be retarded and do everything they can to hurt themselves with it. The spilled McDonald's coffee is the famous example. It is McDonald's fault for making the coffee to hot and not the person who was irresponsible and spilled it. I think Blizzard should take responsibility for their failures rather than permanently banning people who exploit it them.

>>343535567

Nah.

It's fun when you stumble across an exploit, and you're the only person who knows it for a while.

I figured out how to crash Wildstar servers by using the report function, did it a few times for laughs, and to show off to my guild, then sent in a bug report on what was going on.

People who who exploit continuously without telling anyone to get a specific in game advantages are scummy, but messing around with an exploit you just happen to find is the natural thing to do.

Can you guys explain me what the lootboxes are? My assumption is that they're like chests, completely irrelevant in terms of gameplay and progression since everything beyond skins is already unlocked, and people buy them in hopes of a cool skin.

Just reporting the bug is stupid. You might have your own opinion, but to me, exploring an exploit is how you give a good bug report.

Just letting them know what the bug is doesnt help much. Giving them specifics and triggers is much more helpful

Example A: You can get under the map in Fudgepacker terrace

Example B: Doing a double bronco backflip while equipped with the blitz blasters allows players to clip through fudgepacker pond and shoot players from under the map.

>buy2play with no recurring fees
>surprised Blizzard simply shuts down account instead of giving it a softer penalty for first-time infraction

gee it's almost as if Blizzard's harsh stance on cheating on Overwatch has been decided by a profit motive. meanwhile exploit/hack all you want in WoW and they'll just hand out softer temp bans so you don't take away their sweet, sweet $15/mo hits.
>>
>>343539747
Even if, issuing permament bans for glitches like that is minblowingly retarded. A 30-day suspension would've been a much better punishment.

The only reason why they are handing out perm bans, is the size of the playerbase. If you look at WoW which is bleeding out subscribers, there haven't been any perm bans in MONTHS. People that cheat and abuse glitches get just a 30 day suspension. I've myself abused a glitch which saved me hundreds of thousands of gold and months of grinding, and never got punished for it.

1. Quick Play is not competitive.
2. First offense with a glitch that's in the game of their own doing = ban?
3. Overwatch, competitive, etc.

It's not good. Permabanning someone for abusing a glitch twice in a game that he will essentially have to buy again if he wants to play because there is 0 offline component is also not good, I would say.

>>
>>343540830

It should result in a permanent ban? Look, I get that the dude is not innocent, and I get that there should be consequences for fucking with people. Using a glitch twice without any other corrective action taken by Blizzard should not result in an out-of-the-blue permaban just because it's the least time intensive solution to the problem. Even LoL would probably give you a ban that expires for some shit like that, and those games are a MUCH bigger commitment than OW's matches.

If it's a privately operated server, their right to kick you off their "property" is not incompatible with your right to free speech. It's not your server, though. It's like if you held a neighborhood party, someone you don't know shows up and starts yelling an autistic diatribe- in that situation, while they can keep talking all they like, you have the right to tell them they have to leave.

Play victim all you want. Spout free speech memes all you want. Try to make it sound like you're being reasonable all you want. You're perfectly aware of what you've done and no loophole will work for you because those servers are property and a service of the admins who monitor them, and they themselves have every right to do whatever it is that they want.

I actually almost did this exact thing by accident while in a skirmish a week ago.

Me and a tracer on the other team were chilling under spawn ramp and jumping around. The game started to lag, so I stopped and saw that it was the jumping.

Still I doubt that would have earned me a ban. I probably would have reported a server crash and it wouldn't have happened in a real game.

Weren't you the one just talking about mental gymnastics? He killed Jewish children because they were the offspring of those who practiced Judaism, and would thus inherit such connections. If you actually knew anything about video game development, especially at the AAA level, you'd know that some glitches can legitimately take months to fix.

Even if a glitch takes seconds to fix, the company is fully justified in banning people who intentionally exploit it, provided it provides an unfair advantage and/or negatively impacts other players.
