I have over 200 blu rays. They take up two sections of a bookshelf and I can take individual ones out to show people when picking a movie with friends or family. They will also last forever and have resale value, even if it's low
Let's say that I'd need, on average, 12gb 1080p rips to match the quality of my blu ray collection, I'd need nearly 3TB of disc space with very little room for extra pirated material. Not to mention HDDs last 5 years if you're lucky and you lose the benefits of the physical library, must rely on bandwidth for your material, and makes it harder to be social with your collection
