are we ever going to get a resident evil game with jill or any of the other popular characters as the protagonists again?
since capcom made re7 into outlast i'm kinda worried we might not see them ever again aside from the occasional remake

I'd have peace with it if they don't since they raped the characters from 4/5 onwards, HOWEVER, the OG characters are still pretty god tier in terms of their archetypes and design, so I do kinda hope they'll reappear in 7, but mostly I just want it to be a good game

Oh of course, if they are going to the effort of making sure that people know it's set after RE6, and including the image of the Umbrella heli it'b be crazy to think that. I wouldn't be suprised to see cameos at some point within 7 itself desu.
I'm glad they actually thought about this though, the way they described the current cast as to much like "super heroes" so they wouldn't work in a game where they want to go back to a horror like atmosphere makes sense.
I'm very, very excited about RE7, it's about time it flipped everything on it's head again and tried something new. And if it doesn't work as well as I hope at least we have REmake 2 coming.
I imagine there will be small cameos but nothing major. Maybe Ashley will be president and Leon will be standing at the side as her bodyguard or something like that.
