Every Gen had good and garbage designs. I just hope that they will stop employing garbage designers and keep the good ones.
The current standard is mediocrity coupled with very few great designs and a whole lot of garbage and I don't like it. I would prefer more designers like James Turner, he made some god tier ones and fucked up once with the ice cream mon.
