From looking at some of the gameplay, I'm afraid its going to play like a single player MMO.

halfway. lots of backtracking, too many of collect 8 bear asses" quests (though you can easily skip them), lots of the same groups of enemies respawning every time you go through an area for the umpteenth time
that said, there are a bunch of pretty good quests, combat is way better and more fluid than any mmo ever, and there's tons of flexibility in playstyle (you can change class at any time)

Modern RPGs are single player MMOs and modern MMORPGs are RPGs with coop in instanced dungeons.
the setting and story are as generic fantasy as it gets, but the combat is fun and you get to climb on shit

The main game can feel a little like an MMO, if you do all the sidequests instead of advancing the story. You can find these teleporter beacons that remove most of the traveling.
The included addon (Dark Arisen) however, is like a dungeon crawler with nonstop fighting and some of the best level design I've seen in the last 10 years.
