On the contrary, in anticipiation i've spent the last week playing the fuck out of Hyrule Warriors, Dynasty Warriors 8, Samurai Warriors 4, Arslan the Warriors of Legend, Dragon Quest Heroes and One Piece Pirate Warriors 3.

If you seriously thought there was going to be any kind of decent Berserk adaptation into any media as far as the story material goes, you're deluded beyond help. So no, they haven't died "yet", they died years and years ago.
I still think the musou can be a good game, as a mindless slaughterfest in a Berserk skin. If it at least captures the tone and the atmosphere of the manga it will probably be really satisfying.
