He had nothing to do with DMC2, he didn't even know it was happening until somebody mentioned it when the game was getting localized or some shit.
Not even Itsuno had much to do with DMC2. Capcom was making some random action game, learned it was garbage, sent Itsuno to fix it a few months before release then slapped the DMC logo on it so it sells since DMC1 was popular.
