It didn't show were you were until you completed the fragment, but all you had to do was look at where it fit in.
Would have been perfect if fragments only showed the start and up to wherever the player is at, even hiding decision branches, until completed.

I really liked the game, but overall, VLR and 999 were better, it was a good conclusion and I'm glad the way it went.

Did anyone else feel the format of ZTD fucked with the pacing of the game hard? You're already hopping around to different points trying to unlock more paths by the first hour or so, it made the progression feel very awkward compared to the other games.

So if Carlos, Akane and Junpei are the ones responsible for saving everyone and creating the best timeline, and Junpei and Seven are the ones who destroyed Free the Soul's HQ, why were Sigma and Phi even there?
You can say it was to conceive Phi and Delta, but in that case there was no need for the double time loop.
Especially because the whole point was creating a timeline where R6 isn't released, and that happens in the first 5 minutes of the game, with no input from Akane, Sigma and Phi, the three that were there just to create that timeline.
VLR was a gigantic waste of everybodies time. You never even do anything to stop R6 from being released. All Sigma and Diana do is not stumble onto the death flag that causes it.
There's never any point where Sigma and Phi are actually proactive towards their mission.

I didn't have a problem with that conceptually. It had potential for some really cool pacing tricks (that didn't pan out, unfortunately), it was essential for the overlapping wards twist, its existence has precedence within the series, and it's the only way to keep existing espers/shifters from becoming OP in this game.
My biggest problem with the fragments system was that the status quo rarely ever changed between fragments. If there had been more fragments available with more permanent changes (such as characters dying) readily apparent, it could have led to a really cool meta-puzzle as the player has to figure out the global flowchart for themselves. That's what I was expecting going into the game, at least.

It was a horrible twist. The fact that they had to hide Q because it would be obvious otherwise made it even worse.
The twist of Ace, and then Akane in 999 made sense, and was shocking.
The twist of Sigma looking different than we thought was a rehash of Ever17, and was a huge stretch to think he wouldn't realize, but it kind of worked.
The twist of Mr. "I was off camera the whole time" was just pathetic. It's even worse because we, the player, are never acknowledged at all. There was no in-game reason for the twist, besides hiding the obvious bad guy off camera the entire game. It felt like a cheap twist.
