Sennheiser Game One

Headphones themselves are HD598s, the Mic quality is pretty damn good and you get a volume control wheel on the right headphone.

Might be more expensive than good headphones and a seperate Mic by a bit, but I don't mind paying a bit extra for the convenience of one wire and the volume control. Pain in the ass to have to alt tab or go through menus to lower the volume when I can just do it immediately.

Got them brand new for only $140ish.

I am a bit turned off about getting the HD558 and then take out the foam and do the jack mod. Currently debating with myself if I should get the Wooz made Fidelio X2 cause that thing has detachable 3.5mm jack.

Good to know that we can actually use the Brainwavz velour pads with it. I head decent things about the Brainwavz pads.

If you've got the money, I'd say go for it. Haven't used a pair myself, but reviews and impressions point to it being worth the extra money over something like a 558.

>Good to know that we can actually use the Brainwavz velour pads with it
They're not natively compatible. I've seen one guy with his 598s stretch them over the whole driver case, I think someone else ripped the friction ring off the stock pads and stick them to the Brainwavz, and some people just glue them directly on. I'm using these 3D printed adapters:
http://www.modhouseaudio.com/sennheiser-earpad-adapters/

>I head decent things about the Brainwavz pads.
I used the non-angled pleather with my HD 280 Pros before this. Both versions are soft as fuck. Guaranteed comfort upgrade on almost any sub-$400 headphone you can slap them on.

If someone really cared about and liked music theory they wouldn't have elitist and specific obscure tastes.

They could just go to spotify and randomly select music to enjoy it all. But the fact that there are people who make collages of their taste in music to show off and belittle others just reveals how big of a fraud the whole process is.

This has some truth to it, it's the reason why Beats are so popular in spite of being overpriced.

>No one cares about music
This, on the other hand, is pure autism. Look, Pete, no one else cares that your ears are so fucking trash that you can't enjoy great music on a quality pair of headphones. The rest of care. We care a lot. And we care because we actually do get quite a lot out of it. To varying degrees, of course, most of us don't have ears good enough to make high-quality amps and $500 cans worth it, but there is a standard, and no one else cares that you fall well short of it.

The only reason I use a gayman headset is because I got this for free off a twitch stream. The surround sound is a pile of horse shit the likes of which my ears had never before experienced and there's still an audible hiss when the mic is on which astro denies to this day.
>>
>>343450841

Probably one of the only good "gaming headsets" that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Mic is nothing special, but the audio quality is pretty good even if just a motherboard amp.
>>
>>343450830
Don't get the original Beats studio at that. 2.0 wireless is a lot better than the old pair, but still overpriced. $200 for a pair if you can get it at that price isn't that horrible of a deal.
>>
>>343448493
I have one of these.
I really wish Sony had made an external, detachable, headset mic for it because it's its only real flaw to be honest.

The microphone picks up literally EVERYTHING around you. Like someone moving upstairs? Everyone can hear that: you, the players on your team, the opponents, the other players in the servers surrounding the one in the list your currently in, Grandma on skype. Everyone.
>>
I use cheap headsets now because I have a habit of breaking them every few months.
>>
>tfw you often keep your headsets only on one ear to hear if anything happens in the house in case some shit goes down

I'm paranoid but I can't do shit about it. Also my headphones break because they twist too much after some time from being only on my right ear

How do you like the sound btw for music and gaming? Is it pretty good when it comes to positional audio?
>>
>>343452445
They are very good. The sound quality is up there with mid range headphones around the same price, espcially when plugged into a DAC, so they are good for music as well. The USB converter thing that it comes with is a cheap plastic waste of time and the build quality isn't the best if you're rough with them, but they are repairable. (had to fix the arm of one side due to sleeping in them). The mic is annoyingly monodirectional and will only pick up what it's directly pointed it. It's not practical for a clip on mic because it's hard to get it pointed at your mouth all the time. Would recommend them but get a desktop mic if you want to talk to people.

Feenix Aria guy here. I want to put my two cents into this. You know how people who are slightly blind don't realise how much detail they are missing until they get laser surgery or whatever, same shit with good headphones. I used to use Logictech G930's with 7.1 surround sound, I can't listen to them anymore because they sound terrible. You can use what you want but calling people elitist just because they want to hear things clearly is like calling someone who gets eye surgery elitist because they want to see clearly.

g930's are garbage anyway, logitech's software doesn't even work with win10 and i've had to send my g930's in twice this past year because they keep fucking up in different ways

i'm too cheap to upgrade because the lifetime warranty is actually kind of nice

Technology is expensive bro. If you want good gear you need to fork out extra money. I went overboard but you can get cheaper alternatives that sound better than gaming headsets. Gaming anything is always marked up in price for some reason.

>>343454137
Used to have a problem like this. Used older, more stable drivers. Don't know if it would work for Win 10 though. Never upgraded.
>>
Picked up these this week. They're alright. I knew going in they weren't going to be top notch gear, but they get the job done, and they were $40 instead of the regular $80, which is stunningly cheap for a gaming headset.

That thing's really a good midrange phone masquerading as a gaming phone.

Feenixbro in here doing the lord's work.

God bless.

>>343457263
;_; I wish it came with the case. I think only the other rebrand and the original Yoga-CD2500's have that.

>>343456939
What the other guy said. They are really just rebranded Yoga-CD2500's but because it comes with a mic and has the feenix logo on the cups it's classed as a completely new Feenix product. Feenix does it with most of their products I believe.

I've worn those Plantronics, they're fucking horrid. Just the most uncomfortable thing you can put on your head. They're not big enough to be properly circumaural, and yet they're not designed to be supra-aural, so hey don't sit comfortably one way or another, they just crushed some part of my ears no matter how I placed them, and it made using them more than a half hour at a time a miserable experience. An oval shaped pad of the same relative size would have been fifty times more comfortable, because it's a much more natural match to the human ear. Those boxes are retarded.

The pads are stiff and the material they're covered in is cheap and feels awful on the skin too, and pads are too thin so that whatever parts of my ear weren't being crushed by the pads were pressed up against the plastic of the driver housing.

Just a negative wear all-around.

>>343457263
Hah, I guess I asked for that. I meant what headphones were they before being rebranded.

>>343457721
Thanks. Yeah, I know how the rebranding goes, I mentioned the HyperX Clouds 'cause it's the same shit with those.
