I've still got a ways to go but I'm still not sure if I want to start a NG+ when I finish this playthough.
I can't imagine much would change by giving the sphere to the other side.
FFX has really poor writing, terrible dub-work, a load of really annoying minigames to get the best equipment, pretty poor visual design for most enviornments in the first half of the game, and terrible random encounter structure.
It's combat system, the flexibility of the sphere grid in the post-game, the abundance of superbosses, and the presence of a lot of unique and weird mechanics like the Aeon system or Riku's mixing are it's only notably good traits.

The problem with the sphere grid in the post game is you practically needed to remove everything and redo it so your characters could get max stats, if you wanted to take on the superbosses.

FFT, VI, V, IX, XI, XII, and XIII-2 all had good, entertaining, or interesting writing. Even XIV is pretty decent nowadays.
While most of the series is either bland and threadbare stuff typical of 80s jrpgs or just plain shit, quite a bit of it is pretty good too.

13-2 didn't have "good" writing, it had "entertaining" writing.
It was just a fun, melodramatic romp that knew not to take itself seriously. The paradox endings in particular were great - stuff Snow showing up with a time machine out of nowhere and then taking Serah with him to save the day,while basically telling Noel to go fuck himself and abandoning him for acting too chummy with his fiance, was hilarious.
