Playing through it right now, just beat Planet Wisp. So far I think the Modern Sonic segments and the boss/rival fights are fantastic. The Classic segments don't feel like they belong in the classic games but I still find them plenty enjoyable.
Overall the music is great, visuals are great, gameplay is mostly great, the missions add some decent variety, and Classic Sonic is pretty adorable and gets some nice moments like the one where Knuckles asks him if he's gained weight.
It's the first new Sonic game I've played since Heroes or Advance 3 and it didn't disappoint at all.

I bought it twice, 360 and PC.
The demo and music were what got me, but the game is pretty solid on its own.
