This is the price for constant updates. My Nintendo prizes are lame but they are updated monthly, you get coins more easily and the prize page isn't a mess.

Look at the page for the new games, says they're available until October 1st. Last set of games said available until July 1st and then they swapped them out today. So by the time we'll see new platinum rewards, most of our coins will have expired.
I think Metroid Fusion, Mario 64, Super Punch out and some of the DLC will get swapped out on August 1st but those are all gold rewards.
