My first animal crossing was Wild World as well. I played it every day for at least four hours, sometimes straight, sometimes cumulative. It took me a whole year to get tired of it.
I was really unimpressed with new leaf, and I ended up playing wild world again for a few months and loved it. Population growing may fill in the gap that new leaf left, so maybe I should try that.
