Scamming is fun, I did that in WoW and Runescape to amuse myself; always gave the gold back unless the person was being a colossal asshole.
EvE has the potential to let you do some really amazing things, but the gameplay is shitty and its got the most boring flight model possible. You will not be controlling jack shit, you will be pushing the go button on a series of autopilot tasks.
Played for six or seven years subbing for a few months annually. I can't keep coming back EvE I don't care how your UI looks or how cozy the atmosphere is

But I strongly feel like EvE's combat is also just really shit. Its nuanced and intricate but clumsy and doesn't feel like you have significant control over anything. Orbit this, fly straight off into space here, orbit this, change target, etc.
I'm not saying eve needs to be joystick controlled or anything, just making a point that even though its intricate EvE's combat is not fun. Flying around is no fun. PvP is fun but gate camping isnt.

Alright pay attention. Lets say we're playing evochron and EvE on speerate computers and achieving the same task: getting to a station and docking
Evochron:

>Engage engines
>Boost to around 3500m/s
>Turn off Newtonian inhibitor
>Reach station
>Reengage Newtonian inhibitors
>Get docking permission
>Manually dock
EvE Online:

Turning while flying. Evochron you turn, EvE you tell it another direction for it to fly forever unless you change its mind. You have so little actual ability to control your ship. You are detached from the actions it thinks you want it to carry out. Its the difference between running a CNC or actually being able to router wood by hand
