After seieng /v/ hype about this i decided to buy it. I'm 4 hours in and im already thinking of dropping it.
The story seems okay but it is just is not fun

There's nothing special about bioshock. It wasn't particularly good when it came out. There is basically zero good level design in the entire game and good level design is what makes fps games good.

I replayed it a few weeks ago for the first time in years and I agree. The gunplay is pretty awful and the pace of the game is so extremely slow because ammo is limited so you have to search everything.
The writing isn't even that good - they lay it on way too thick with the SEE GUYS, LIBERTARIAN PARADISE DOESN'T WORK! SEE? SEEEE?, especially in the tapes, but the voice acting is good.

What hype surrounding Bioshock? Anyone who has an opinion worth a shit knows that it's a casualized, shittier System Shock 2.
Bioshock 2 sacrifices any originality and story for superior gameplay mechanics, but there are plenty of FPS games that do it better.
Bioshock Infinite isn't even worth mentioning.
I could see how the underage/stupid college kids on /v/ would think their first FPS with some RPG mechanics would think it's amazing, but they aren't worth acknowledging at all.

I fell for the meme as well. The hype surrounding the game when it released was like few games ever.
It ended up being my least favorite game ever. Took me over a year of forcing myself to beat it and I dreaded the entire time.
Funny thing is years later Infinite looked good to me and I bit the bullet and loved it. Went back and replayed 1 and enjoyed it and 2 was even better.
Infinite > 2 > 1
