FF12 was fine dialogue-wise. It's still very straightforward, and didn't even really sound like Renaissance shit. FFT WotL on the other hand was like that shit taken up to 11. That's why I wouldn't recommend anyone to play that version (plus audio like the SFX sounds butchered to hell + slowdowns, dunno if they fixed that). I mean the replaced the best line in the game ("Animals have no God!") with "the Gods have no eyes for chattel." You can't make this shit up.

The linear FFs tend to have better side quests anyway imo, bonus dungeons, and mini games and stuff.
Being linear is pretty much the worst argument against 10 because the majority of FF games are fairly linear anyway.
