Actually one of my favorite games, I used to sit down and play it about once a month. Some of that is nostalgia I'm sure but I just love the way the game handles movement with the floatiness actually being central to the combat

it's really shitty compared to the masterpiece that is tomba 1. the graphics are hideous by PS1 standards, there's too much talking and shitty voice acting (that little friend you have with you is terrible), and changing to different levels is awkward. really, the whole thing is awkward--they really should've learned more from klonoa if they were going the 2.5D route.

It's not really like either of them, honestly. It plays closer to Klonoa and a 2D Zelda if I had to make any direct comparison. You have a variety of weapons you can find and upgrade, you can kill enemies by stunning them, jumping on them and then flinging them, there's an emphasis on exploring the world and minor RPG elements like health upgrades and doing sidequests.
