The game is fucking fantastic, I haven't enjoyed an RPG like this since P4 or Tales of Xillia.
I'm not sure if I like that they essentially stripped down the S. Links and removed the schedule management aspect, but at the very least I'm enjoying the brisk pace that doing so allows. It's nice to be able to jump to the next dungeon without an hour and a half of VN
The fast-forward button is also a godsend for boss cutscenes and the like.

Is there any rule I should follow to know around what level I should be for each boss?
So far I've started a bossfight, got my ass handed to me in 2 turns, grinded for 10 minutes, went back and had a super easy time.
Now I'm at the mid boss of Chapter 3 and the boss is destroying me way too quickly. There's nothing I can do against session attacks because there will always be at least 1 character weak to a very powerful attack

For Draug you should be mid-30's. Always go into boss fights with full SP.
You need to kill his minions before he has a chance to put up his guard stance, the pegasus minion takes priority because Itsuki is weak to spears, then the cleric since it will heal Draug, then the two mages.
I'm sure it's a good game which is why I'll eventually import it and play it in Japanese. I got annoyed enough with censorship, bad translations, and shit just not coming over that I've started learning Japanese.

Why is this game so simple. I'm only as deep as beating Chapter 1 but EVERY single aspect of this game is ankle-deep so far. So far, I think the game is okay, but my issue is that there's too much emphasis on hitting weaknesses. I like that the effects of it aren't as crazy good as in Persona, but any attack that doesn't start a session seems pointless. Items are ridiculously good and cheap as well. Early in the game you can buy Ice Packs for really cheap and they're better than any healing spell you get for a long time. Those SP boosting items are way too abundant for how good SP skills are. Even with those flaws, I feel like it could be interesting if they worked some of those things out.
