Witcher 3 is a cinematic movie game with 15+ horus of story driven cinematic cutscenes and the gameplay is literal fetch and trail quests galore.
The combat mechanic is technically broken and dog shit, the environment is the only half-good thing about this game.

Get Axii if you like using it in dialogues. It gets you alot of value that way.
HoS is recommended to start at any point beyond lvl 30 but before you finish the main game.
After completing the main game quest you do B&W since you get all the dialogue and events in the dlc that way.

I'll never forget the day /v/ talked me into buying the Enhanced Edition of the first Witcher game. What a fucking heap. I don't even remember what I paid for it but I can tell you it was completely wasted. What I saw of the story was cliche and boring and the game straight up looked like ass even by the standards at the time. I will admit though that I didn't get too far into it because of the absolutely atrocious, clunky, counter intuitive combat system that fought me every step of the way. It's still to this day the worst gameplay I have every experienced and I've played some pretty shitty games. And don;t even start with how it gets good 20 hours in or how I should have to "git gud" with the shitty controls. They fixed the shit in BaW where when you remove bandits or monsters from a village geralt now sits down to meditate for days before the people slowly return. A small touch like that would have been nice, maybe after meditation we see geralt putting away his alcohest he uses to replenish potions as he stands up.
Applying oil animation would be hard as you can now apply it mid fight but it would be nice if it had an animation and couldnt be used mid battle. Removes the whole fun on prep when you can do it all mid fight

I feel like tw2 had a lot more of those, and it was satisfying as hell when you made the right deduction in terms of whether you should trust someone, whether it be elves or monsters, or if you paid attention during class when Mr. Ghost tests you on your history knowledge.

Yeah once you start the blood and wine expansion do the professors grave mission straight away that you get in a letter from triss or yen depending on your chosen babe. I did it mid main story and after heaps of side missions meaning I had already spent nearly all the points I gained, need to get a potion of clearance and fix it all now.
I'd also recommend you do the missions needed to get areondight first as well, much more fun to play through main story and the like with it rather than get it end game and have nothing to use it on. That + grandmaster armor can be crafted and used immediately p much

Got the "both sisters die" ending. Felt a lot more fitting than them forgiving each other.

I can't find myself liking many other game protagonists as much as him. Now both Metal Gear and The Witcher have finished there are no games coming up where I will truly connect with the story.
